I'm so excited his interview is tomorrow! I'm nervous too tho! Any tips? He is going to the London embassy and I wanted to know how much he has to pay once he gets it approved tomorrow. Thank youuuu!

Your husband's visa fee will be $230, plus he'll need a bit more to pay for the passport courier.

I thought we only had to pay for delivery of the visa. There's another $230 we have to pay after the interview? It's for a cr1 visa

Yeah. You've probably already paid the $420, right? That's the petition filing fee. The visa itself costs $230.

There's a final fee, too, called the USCIS Immigration Visa fee which is made payable before travelling to the USA. That's another $165 (see on the right of that link I posted).

They'll ring you for every penny before this is over.

I did the CR1 I only had to pay the $165 after being approved at the London embassy plus the courier fee's around 15-20 quid I think.

I was approved in March.

Not sure if filing DCF makes a difference lost at sea?

My tip would be to queue/stand around the bollards in between the two small huts near the US embassy entrance as thats where they tend to ask people to make a line.

I just figured that after the application fee, affidavit of support fee of $88 I paid then on top of paying the IV fee online (I think that was $230) then the medical exam that I was done with fees.....

Uh. I don't know? The visa fees stated on the embassy website right now says the fee for immediate relatives is $230. Maybe it's gone up?

The $165 fee is a different fee (the IV fee) and paid whenever you want before you travel.

EDIT. I think I know why I'm confused. Normal CR1/IR1 pay something to the NVC for the affidavit of support? I assume that is taken away from the final fee cost?

You have to pay that $165 fee when u are approved. ( don't ask me what its for cause its a "new" fee so I didn't have that one) Since u are doing cr1 all your other fees are paid already...

If you paid $230 online, it sounds like you've already paid for the visa - so there's no more for him to pay tomorrow, except for the courier.

The $165 IV fee before travel still stands.

With cr1 you pay everything to the NVC before the interview, so the only fee left to pay is the $165.

I'm so sorry for confusing you. I didn't realise that CR-1/IR-1s were able to pay their fee in advance, like K1s do. That's really useful to know.

You are correct. You paid for the visa at NVC. The courier is £14.50 unless you want to pay more to have it arrive in an early time slot during the day...like before 8am, instead of anytime during the day.

The $165 New Immigrant Fee can be paid anytime after receiving the visa up to a year. The paper telling you how do do it will say it needs to be paid before the immigrant leaves but that's not true. However it needs to be paid via US bank account or credit card.
