Rant #1: I used my mexican passport for the whole visa thing, and in Mexico you use your dads last name and your moms maiden name for everything.. so lets say my name is Sofia Isabelle (Isabelle being my middle name).. and my moms maiden name is Marquez and my dad's last name is Blomqvist. So now I have to use Sofia Isabelle Marquez Blomqvist on everything.. really long and annoying. I can already see myself having to spell the whole thing out every time since all my names are weird. When I complain about this the Hubs gives me about not changing my last name to his instead. I don't see why I should have to change my last name... in Mexico you keep your name. I just want to have the Marquez part removed.. but apparently I can't. (Obviously none of these are my real names)

Rant #2: I have a 100 dollar withdrawal from my checkings account that I definitely don't remember making!!!! #######??? Callling the bank tomorrow..

I'm the beneficiary.

You will have the golden opportunity to change your name when you naturalize.

Welcome to America!

In America, you can legally change your name via court order, so file at the county courthouse, pay yer fee, and go forth.

Once you have the document from the court - then you can change other stuff. I suggest, in this order:

1. passports (both of them)

2. green card

3. SSN

4. drivers license

You can do this at anytime, just get on the court docket for the day you want it done.

Just takes money and time. That's it, that's all.
