Good idea for a thread Z :) -- definitely seems to be different timeframe to assign a number for some CSC and VSC vs us TSC transfers...

My attorney said they usually try to get the K1's assigned as quickly as possible but I think because TSC isn't used to handling these, they are just holding them back with the rest of the petition types that get sent....

Good!

That's three of us that are waiting here....the more the better, I have been calling everyday....the best number to call is 202 663 1225. They are much nicer (even they suggest calling them everyday!) and the wait time is only a few minutes! The only thing is they are only open during normal business hours. But that's not a problem for me, I can call during the day...

We're still waiting as well. So is everyone from TSC as far as I know.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I can't seem to find any general information for the NVC stage of K1 visa... I've heard people talk about calling to inquire if your application has reached them, but is it necessary for some reason? I thought they just process it and ship it off to the embassy... I was just kind of assuming they would handle everything in a decent timeframe since I haven't heard people watch NVC processing timeframes like they watch CSC, VSC, etc... What exactly happens at the NVC? Do I need to get the case number by calling them? What do I need it for? I feel like I'm missing something about this step, is there something I need to be doing, more forms, what? lol really I'm clueless...

I don't like the "up to 8 week" answer and then if they do it in 6 weeks, they look like heroes...especially since this often only takes a week to get it there and send it out. I stumbled on this older thread the other night about AP - I didn't realize sometimes they do additional background checks at the NVC stage after the NOA2. Is that common?
