Hi everyone, i just recieved this email and a bit confused why they changed my receipt number, if anyone know please let me know.

Receipt Number: WAC1190285038 Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHANYour Case Status: Initial ReviewOn December 21, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance
And when I check my receipt number from the fingerprint letter on the website it showed me this

On December 21, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Sounds like the A number that is on your green card was changed for some reason. no idea why they would do this?

For your Removal of Conditions (I-751) you are approved and you will soon receive your 10-year green card. :)

It looks like you filed another I-130 after becoming a permanent resident in order to bring other family members (non-citizens related to you, for example your children who are not yet US citizens or residents) to the US. Obviously the I-130 is going to have a different receipt number than the I-751. If that's the case then it's probably no big deal. Check your 10-year green card when it arrives to see if your A-number has changed and verify that all the other information on the card is correct.

If you didn't file another I-130, then for some reason they have reopened your old I-130 from 2011 and put it back into "Initial Review" status, which is very strange & could be an error in their system. I'd suggest waiting a few days to let your 10-year green card arrive, then checking the details on the card carefully, then calling them to request an explanation.

Just got an RFE letter in the post dated 12/28/13. Not sure why it took them almost 6 months to even look at our application. I will send them some more documents. Honestly I think they are ridiculous. Not every couple has joint bank accounts, owns a home, has a car and has kids. My husband doesn't even have a driver's license! They are welcome to come to our home and have tea with us any time though.

Just got an RFE letter in the post dated 12/28/13. Not sure why it took them almost 6 months to even look at our application. I will send them some more documents. Honestly I think they are ridiculous. Not every couple has joint bank accounts, owns a home, has a car and has kids. My husband doesn't even have a driver's license! They are welcome to come to our home and have tea with us any time though.

They want to see joint accounts or other evidence of intermingled finances. Best approach would have been to open up two or three joint accounts upon arrival, set up modest direct deposits to both ($50 to $100 per account would do), use debit cards on both to cover minor expenses (restaurant, drugstore, grocery, etc). and save each and every monthly statement in a file labeled "Immigration Paperwork". It's a hassle, but at least you're only being hassled.

People whose families resemble the TV show "Sister Wives" (polyamorous families) and people who have been sex workers within the past five years or so will be categorically denied permission to immigrate. Just in the past year or two it became possible for same-sex couples to get spouse visas - before then, they were also categorically denied. We all know that there are very serious lifestyle discrimination problems at USCIS, and that it will take at least several decades worth of federal lawsuits to get it corrected.

Honestly I am not that stressed about the RFE. I am not really impressed by USCIS, they are all bluster and vague letters. If they are anything like my office no one cares and the walls are all grey.

Didn't say you were either, just noting that an RFE is at least resolvable, whereas other families have it much worse. You complained about lifestyle discrimination ("Not every couple has joint bank accounts, owns a home, has a car and has kids. My husband doesn't even have a driver's license!") by USCIS, which is a longstanding problem.

Incidentally, being a sex worker is legal in Nevada (one such business has been legally operating there since 1902), and a federal court just struck down a Utah law against "Sister Wives" families. Same-sex couples were automatically denied immigration by USCIS until July 2013, even though same-sex marriage has been legal in Massachusetts since 2003.

Does anyone know how long the wait could possibly be? I've seem some people get the green card in 2 months and others longer. I'm working on my 6th month waiting, last notice i received was a transfer notice in November i believe

I guess I'm in the same situation as you :( .... Nothing since the transfer from VSC to CSC.

I read somewhere that we can call them after 6 months, mine is Jan 20th, I hope I'll have something from them before that date.

You shouldn't be worried, it will happen, just keep the faith. Positive attitude is our best partner :)

I will call them Jan 20th firts thing in the morning, I know I will feel much better than right now, regardless of what they will tell me!
