I have my NOA 2 from 4/23 - still no case number from NVC. They are contacting USCIS CSC on my behalf, and I have done a service request with CSC.

NVC doesn't know where it is, CSC says they have 90 days to get it to the NVC - so wait until 7/23.

I can't imagine what the hold up is. Especially, when so many people have it happen so quickly.

I just called today and got my case number and IID.

NOA2 was 6/7, NVC sent to the consulate on 6/26.

Thats because you are a K1. This is a IR1/CR1 thread and its totally different timeline. You only go to NVC for a minute for a case#.

Not sure if NVC received your case, If NVC hasn't received your case then it's still with USCIS and I think some centers are batching several files for a month and then sending to NVC. NVC will tell you immediatly if the case has arrived and it usually takes around 1-2 weeks for the case #.

Not necessarily. Numerous K1 filers including myself have also been told 8 weeks. It's already been 2 and they haven't even recieved it yet.

Yup - I just called NVC this time (I have called DOS the past few days too)...he was very nice but when he gave me the 8 week line they've all been fed, I explained that I don't really understand that because my attorney told me they try to assign the K1 visas the case numbers quickly at this stage and not sure why it would take so long to get a case number...also mentioned that many cases from CSC seem to be getting them assigned within a few days to a week yet none so far from TSC transfers and he had no answers...didn't really expect any but still somewhat frustrating...just trying to stay positive. :)

Called NVC again today and got the 8 weeks line too. They still have not received our case from USCIS, or have not yet entered it into the NVC system. I asked her why the change from the previous quote they gave me of 15 business days. She said it was due to the "onslaught" of cases. She said it might still be possible for my case to get in before the massive influx of cases, so that it might not take the full 8 weeks, but she can't say anything but 8 weeks. She said something like "that's what they're telling us to say now".

This is crazy, we are not talking about time-consuming research or analysis here, USCIS just has to send the cases to NVC, NVC has to register them, and package them up to send to the embassy. They have been known to do it in only a week's time for some people. So what could possibly be the hold up?

This is so frustrating. Just like many of us here, we are trying to make our plans with regard to my fiancee's living situation, the wedding plans, plane tickets, so many things...

It seems like every time we are about to score and get excited, they move the goal posts on us. mad.gif

Just called tonight, and the rep told me the 8 week deal too. What was different was he asked me to read the first 2 sentences of my approval letter, and he then ask for the approval date. I After giving him the information, I told him I was originally told 15 business days, and that this is the 15th day. He then went on to tell me that they are now saying up to 8 weeks for a more realisitic timeframe. Kind of disappointing but he did encourage me to call daily. ClockWatch2.gif
