Anybody noticed a slow down at NVC

So excitedly we received our NOA2 16 days ago. I started calling NVC daily after about a week hoping for the number. Each time I was told (no surprise) that it takes about 15 days. I called the next day anyway. Same answer. Since yesterday was 15 days, when told that we were still not in the system, I replied that it has been 15 days. The response I received, "we are slow now and it will take 3-4 weeks." Has anyone else heard this or are they just trying to save their butts?

Of course now that I am bitching about this, I will probably get the number today :)

I have heard about a slow down.. some speculation about it being due to the new Syrian ability to apply for asylum

if it is not there within your 3 weeks, start sending emails to all the needed individuals.. lots of threads about that

July-Jan filers were approved in droves at CSC during late April and all of May, causing a bottleneck effect at NVC. It will continue due to a similar thing occurring at TSC this month. It's also why you will find it harder to find open interview spaces at the Manila embassy. I figure both will clear up by the fall.

We were told 10-20 business days, it got there in 17 days. However once they receive your packet from USCIS, they still have to wait to put it in the system and they will give u the same response, wait 10-15 business days additional. What we did was we called USCIS first thing in the morning 2 minutes before scheduled to open up and the guy said we were the first callers of the day, i told them i wanted to know the status of our approved case and if it was sent to NVC yet, he immediately transferred me to a Tier2 rep with no wait time. I asked the Tier2 rep when EXACTLY did they send our case to NVC and they gave me an exact date they sent it and it was about 14days after approval notice. I hope this helps and was some what of a response you were looking for. Good Luck

sorry forgot to mention that they do not count the weekends as business days, wasn't sure if they said that or not but you probably knew that, i figured i would cover everything that i personally know just from our experience. Also if you can get a date of when USCIS sent your packet to NVC then you could expect NVC to get it a few days after. But as stated above it will take few days more for them to input it into their system. Again sorry for 2 responses back to back, Good Luck

Just an update: Received MNL# today. So it took 20 days, 14 working days. I guess they were accurate when they initially said 15 working days.

I just called USCIS earlier today and was transfered to an immigration officer. The prompt informed me of 105 mins. wait time, and was given the option of leaving a call back number which I did. It took almost an hour before I received the call. Was informed that my file was forwarded to NVC 6/19. Later contacted NVC and confirmed that they have my file ...... and the standard response of allow 20 days for processing time. I'll probably call every other day just to be sure.
