Hi, my spouse & I married over seas in January. She returned home to NY & filed I130 in late January, received email of USCIS Acceptance Confirmation on February 1. Got the letter I-797 (NOA1) a few days later. Since then we've just been waiting. I live in Canada & my spouse is in New York. We called USCIS on a telephone conference call and spoke to tier2 agent last month and he kept saying "It takes 5-8 months", when I asked if there's any problems with the application he said "no, just wait 5-8months". Looking at VJ, most people seem to get NOA2 in 3-4 months. Is everyone having this problem recently or is it just us? I think our center is Vermont (though Im not sure).

Next month it will be 1 year that I applied!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry you really might have a long wait :(

Totally different service centers and processes these days.

Not that it couldn't happen, but 1 year is quite unlikely.

And I hope you've been on top of your case by now and not just letting it sit and wait.

no one will tell me anything...well, the only lame excuse they say is : It's still undergoing background checks.

but almost 1 year, come on. both of us have no criminal history, etc. just not fair at all, that's it

Just wondering, Is there anyone out there with any experience with the local Philadelphia office? Any info? Are they processing slow too? I filed in April and I haven't heard anything about being transferred. Given our situation, I think I'm stuck at NBC... That could be good, that could be bad. cray5ol.gif

Very sorry to hear about your case. It must be very difficult for you and your husband. However, judging from most of the cases at VJ, yours seems like an outlier rather than the average case. I hope whatever it is, gets sorted out soon.

Thanks for sharing that. I'm relieved to hear I'm not the only one - but grief stricken to find out it's taking so long! Seems like we have to constantly delay our plans to move in & do the things we wanted to...

Well just prepare because after NOA2 you will have about 2 to 3 months at NVC and about 4 till interview. Hopefully the NBC will be better at shipping petitions to NVC.

I'm in Canada and my wife is in NYC. We filed at the end of November, 2012 and it took us five months to get our NOA2. Not sure what field office we were sent to, her address changed from Long Island to NYC about a month and a half after we got our NOA1. I don't think you have anything to worry about just yet, just some slow processing in NY :)

not only you.. we are december filer and still waiting for noa2 and we never heard anything from them also.. i guess we just need to be wait and wait until they approve it,. our receipt start with MSC, so we are NBC.. my husband also tired of calling the USCIS because they just keep telling what we already know.. ranting33va.gif

hey i am also the February filler at NBC (our num starts with MSC).you filed for k-3 visa with the I-130 petition bec last week i contacted my senator and she told me to fill a form and after that she will inquire about our petition and also said that our file is at Vermont and I-129F is at California Bt we received our NOA-1 for both ,stated that our case process at NBC. so i dont what is happening to and when i will approved. we just completed 4 and half month for I-130 and exact 4 month for k-3 visa .

hey you filed for K-3 visa???

i also filed for K-3 visa too with the I-130 petition bt on VJ people posted like if we do I-129F petition with the I-130 than our process goes slow and they put our file in a que until both will approved together. and i also show on Vj member timeline that most of the February Fillers at NBC got their approval. so is this true in our case aur nt???? i got my NOA-1 on 5th ,February.
