Guys, I just got my fiancé's case number from NVC. Staff said it's not forwarded yet to the Embassy. I asked how long will it take for them to send it but he only said it wont take that long....geezzzz.... Now what? Can my fiancé schedule now for interview? I already gathered the paperworks including affidavit of support, etc and ready to ship to my fiancé....

you can wait for the experts to chime in but as far as i know, you can go ahead and schedule her interview at the embassy if you already have the MNL#. Check out Hank's guide as it is very detailed and concise. You can search for it here on VJ or on the search bar. Good luck!

From this point on everything is Embassy related. For Manila click the link in my signature below this post.

Oh ya... pop down to the Philippine forum and say "Hi", great group of people there.

Unlike CR-1/IR-1, with K-1, you don't need a NVC case number at all. Your case is only at NVC a very short time and then it gets sent to embassy. There's nothing you can or should do with that case number. Really, you just wasted your time to get it. Probably got stressed over it too dealing with those people.

The embassy will contact the beneficiary by mail or phone (depends on the country) to come pick up packet III, a bunch of forms to fill out and instructions for doing th medical, xrays, etc.

You should not be scheduling the interview at this point. Technically, you're supposed to schedule once your paperwork is completed, documents gathered, and medical completed.

huh? nvc casefile number is needed to schedule the appointment at Manila IV for those chasing a K-1 visa, all is done via ustraveldocs website.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

From what I understand....you have to wait for the embassy in Manila to confirm receipt of your K1 package from the NVC, and then they invite you to pay the processing fee's...once paid, then you can schedule your interview. This is exactly what we are waiting for now :-)

Cheers !!!

Unless Manila does it differently, I don't think it's for a K-1.

Manila IV does it differently. I invite you to find and read Hank_ 's Handy-Dandy Neeto-Keen (yet spiffy) Guide to Chasing after a K-1 visa for Manila IV.
