Hi, here is my draft for the how we met question 18. What do you think? Any comments or suggestions?

Part B, Question 18: Explanation of meeting in person

[name] and I met in [date] in [place]. I was on vacation with my cousin who knew a friend living in the area. His friend introduced me to [name] and we spent the next week together. Before returning to the USA, we agreed to engage in a long distance relationship. We communicated every day, either on the phone, texting, Skype, and video chat. We planned our next trip for [name] to come to the USA for two weeks in [date]. When she arrived in [place] I showed her numerous tourist attractions, took her to meet my family, and we continued to keep our relationship strong. She returned to [place] at the end of [date] and we continue to communicate every day. [name] will be coming to visit again in [date] for a couple months at which point we will file the petition for a K1 Visa.

You could fit all of this in the provided space on the I-129F without an additional sheet like so:

Date - Date - Place: Initially met through mutual friends while I was vacationing with my cousin.

Date - Date - Place: Name visited me in the USA

Date - Date - Place: Name visited me in the USA

This is the format I used, and the petition was approved without issue.

They want to see HOW you met (through mutual friends) and WHEN you have seen eachother in person within the past two years. Nothing more is needed.

It doesn't make sense that on the petition you will state that he/she will visit you and you will file the petition.

Yeah we also attached a sheet and wrote stuff like

"then Stefanie came to visit me on the 10th september (please see boarding pass and eticket) and we went to the Statue of Liberty (Evidence A) and did this and that.

We also wrote what attracted us to each other and why we choose each other to be our partners

The clue is in both the title of the field and the size of the box. Tell them how you met and when (and possibly by what means/via who). Anything else is fluff and could make it harder for adjudicators to see the all important meeting dates (and we all know they need all the help they can get). jenafid's method is ideal.

Just the very first sentence is all that is requried.

That works just fine. Provide copies of the passport stamps and boarding passes from those trips as evidence of meeting within the last 2 years.

Just keep it short and sweet and inside the little box on the form. I actually wrote a whole page answering that question, and the entire embassy interview was based off of my answer to that question.
