try getting a google voice account.. you get a phone number and free calls to the states.. next time you can use the call back feature

I've used that google phone thing before. I don't know if it's the same thing you're talking about. But it hardly ever works. I can hear the people just fine, but they can't hear anything I say. I almost always had to end up calling back with Skype.

Are you just using Skype Out? They have Skype Number as well. I pay about $65/yr for both, and a Freetalk-1200 adapter for the house. It includes Canada, so it works perfect for our needs. I have never had a good experience calling out with Google Voice, always dropped the calls on me within a few minutes, but I use it for voicemail.

You should check your settings and make sure the proper microphone is selected. I've had that problem before but as soon as I changed the settings around it worked.

They answer, hang up on me.

WHY OF COURSE IT HAD TO END THAT WAY. Any other way would make the 2 hours on hold actually worth it.

I call back and demand to skip the wait time and they insist there is no way to skip it. I give up.
