If you filed at the consulate they should have gave you the NOA1 in person. That's what they did with me. Then they notified me by email when it was approved because I kept asking about it

Hi guys!

Just a quick update to say I've just received in the mail my NOA2 with the approval and I'm getting ready to send all the papers on Monday morning. It was very exciting!

So, veronicavonn, there's still hope! Considering mine took 2 months, yours shouldn't take that long smile.png

I'll keep you guys posted smile.png

Yeah, but you waited 2 months for your NOA2. I'm still waiting for ANY kind of response (e-mail saying petition is approved and/or NOA1). It's been 6 weeks now..

I'm interested to see if yours gets approved before mine, because you filed in person and I didn't. Either way, we should be getting the same things done around the same time, I think.

You should be approved soon. They probably just won't send you a NOA1

Did you ring or email to keep asking about it?

Maybe....Honestly am so nervous about it our case is a little complicated. My husband is having to PCS without me and i have to go live with my parents in the UK until i get my visa approved. So our address situation is complicated, when we submitted they looked at our application and said our covering letter explained and it would be fine so i have my fingers crossed. I will have to come back to germany n stay with friends here when i am needed to process things for the visa...HASSLE!

Hi everyone,

I filed the petition I-130 for my wife today. We are a little confused as we did not receive a case number, should we worry?

Contrary to some posts in this forum, they did not ask us to submit the DS-230 today.

Do we have to wait until I-130 is approved or should we submit DS-230 in advance?

Also, what is A NOA1 and NOA2?

Thanks a lot!!

Anton

No. You should wait until you are asked for the form. It's been reported here on VJ that, IN THE PAST people who filed in person were able to hand in the DS-230 at the same time, HOWEVER, they do not do that anymore.

Yes, wait, because the DS-230 goes to the Immigrant Visa Unit, not the USCIS. You're only dealing with the USCIS until your I-130 is approved

Hi guys! For those of you who had their medical in Frankfurt, did you received the results on the same day or you had to wait and receive them on the mail?

We decided to go to Frankfurt on Monday for the walk-in examination and we wonder if we could stop by the consulate after and just drop the results.

You don't receive the results. They tell you if your results are fine right after the examination, but they need a couple days to process the paperwork. Then they have them delivered to the consulate.
