No, I responded because of your obviously prejudiced statements about the 16-year-old "molestee" and the 50-year-old-guy, and the "50-year-olds in relationships with underage girls", and "underage Filipina" remarks.

Because it's not your preference, you'd like to characterize any relationship with an age gap outside of your acceptable 5-year limit as sick and perverted.

OK, whatever.

If your wife is under 18, I'm talking about you. If she's over 18, I'm not. Reading comprehension, people.

Hmmm, I think it must be you with the reading comprehension problem since the legal age for marriage in the RP is 18.

1-Can they do it because of their ages? (Remember we and her parents can sing if it were necessary)

Check with the state laws on marriage - they might be able to get married under 18 depends on the laws though.

Also check out the link for the Guide and then K-1, I don't know if an under 18 person can qualify for a K-1.

2-Who can make him an affidavit, can it be done for a friend of us?

for affidavit of support? Anyone can be a co-sponsor, they don't need to be a relative.

3-He never thought he will have to prove his love, and then he has a lot of pictures/letter/postcards of her everywhere but he did not keep any envelop. How can he prove his love….he will go next March, what can he do to help that process?

Verification of travel - ticket stubs for plane, passpart etc, they can bring affidavits from people who know them both, bring in the other items too. Pictures of them together.

4-She does not have any relative in US, is that good or bad for that process?

This makes no difference.

The I-864 affidavit of support for the greencard, if he needs a co-sponsor, can be signed by any citizen of the U.S. who makes 125% of poverty line.

Sound simple, the 125% guideline. See the link below for better understanding of what one will need to sponsor someone's liability!

2006 Poverty Guidelines

Age for marriage: check with your state law. I know in PA it's 18 yrs old to apply for Marriage License.

I don't really think we need to tell them that it's not appropriate for them to get married. Different cultural norms and whatnot. They didn't come here to be told how to live their lives. Now when it's a 50 year old guy asking how he can marry his 16-year-old Filipina molestee, THAT'S when I start voicing my opinion a little louder.

Hello,

I have a son who was born in USA from Cubans parents. He is 17 and works as a part time and studies at college and he will finish next year. When he was about 11 he went to Cuba and met a lot of friends and he has keep communication with them by mail, email and phone. He is in love with one of those girls and they are a kind of fiancé since almost 2 years, she is also 17 and we have also communication with her parents without any problem. My son wants to marry her next year here in US and bring her with a Fiancé Visa.

My questions are:

1-Can they do it because of their ages? (Remember we and her parents can sing if it were necessary)

2-Who can make him an affidavit, can it be done for a friend of us?

3-He never thought he will have to prove his love, and then he has a lot of pictures/letter/postcards of her everywhere but he did not keep any envelop. How can he prove his love….he will go next March, what can he do to help that process?

4-She does not have any relative in US, is that good or bad for that process?

Thanks in advance, they are really in love and we are happy because they both are good children.

Not just the Philippines, all other countries as well.
