Immigrant Visa Case Number:ISL ISL XXXXXXXX Case Creation Date: 09-Aug-2012 Status Updated Date: 09-May-2013
Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days. Under the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act, Immigrant Visas for "Diversity Visas" cannot be issued after September 30th of the year in which you were selected to apply for a Diversity Visa. For example, entrants into the Diversity Visa Program in Fall of 2011 were selected for Diversity Visa 2012 Program, and selectees MUST apply and receive their visa prior to September 30, 2012 otherwise they lose eligibility to receive a Diversity Immigrant Visa, regardless of additional administrative processing. In addition, please note that some immigrant visas may not be able to be issued if the annual numerical limit for that category has been reached.

For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV.

Mandatory AP is done in some countries and is usually a background check and/or verification's are being done.

Unfortunately there is no set time for AP so no one will be able to tell you how long it will take. It may take a few weeks, it may take a few months.
Just hang in there, it looks like most of your waiting is behind you now.

Best of luck for a quick AP! :)

From what I have read, there is nothing to do but wait. At this point, though, your US spouse can contact her congressman and or senator. She could also start looking into a lawyer for a write of Mandamus (best to wait till about 6 months for that one, I reckon). (agar kuchh meri baat meyn samajh meyn nahiin aayi to mujhe bataaye aur main to dohraauungaa urdu meyn).

My husband has been in AP for over 22 months and the CO told him the same thing about 2-4 months :( There is nothing any one can do. We have a lawyer, have sent endless inquiries from a senator, congressman etc with no help. They only tell you that the case is in AP and nothing more. Writ of Mandamus is not a good option as well as they will simply deny the case if AP is not complete.
