Have any of you tried to upload a resume to an online application? If you had you'd know that when you do so, it inputs the information where it seems appropriate. More often than not, it gets it wrong and you have to fix it by hand. Because the lay out of the I-864 has changed, when the NVC personnel upload your I-864 to their computer system, it's likely not inputting the information into the correct spots for the reviewer. So they're having to do it by hand. That takes significantly MORE time than it would otherwise.

Also remember how long 20 business days are. Business days do not include weekends. This weekend is up to a 4 day weekend for government employees. So that's 2 days less they will be reviewing your AOS.

I don't say any of this to be a downer, just letting you know that you may need to adjust your expectations and remember the patience you needed to develop for the USCIS. Best of luck to all of you!

Also remember they LOG when you call. They know if you called a week ago, a day ago, or 5 mins ago.

I understand where you re coming from NikiR, but you do NOt release a form with a different layout without thinking about the way to review it!

I worked for Exxonmobil as a Process Specialist and each new form/process had to be thought through minutiously and in place for the release, otherwise the new process would have never seen the day.

I am sure that there are some Process Specialists also working in the back office.

Why on Earth would you publish a new form without having give, a thought about how to review it?!

I know we developed patience with the USCIS, but this really isn't on.

LOL

because it's the US government. Of course they would release it. The one who MAKES the forms and the one who reviews it, in our case, is two different parts of the government. When have you ever known the US government to have the left and right hands know what they're doing while the feet are walking in the same direction. It just doesn't happen. I bet the USCIS, who makes the forms and also reviews them in the AOS cases, have fully implemented how to do so. They simply didn't make sure the NVC knew how to do it.

This isn't one large company. It's a government. It's the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services AND the National Visa Center which is a part of the Department of State. Two totally different government groups. They get their money either way, so it doesn't matter. It's not like some large business deal hinges on if one hand didn't let the other one know what was going on. In their minds, it's probably the other part's fault (the USCIS is at fault for not letting the DOS know with enough time that they were releasing a different form and the USCIS can't help that the DOS didn't get it ready in time.)

I think you are exactly right on the faxt that they re washing their hands off.

I called and got given the USCIS number. I was also told they were finalising the process, and that they were not having troubles reviewing the new version...

Another stressful situation!

Yeah just call every couple of days. Try not to stress. I wouldn't all again until Tuesday to be honest. They may or may not be open tomorrow but they will not be open on Monday. I found I stressed myself MORE when I called but what works for me, doesn't work for everyone else.

Has anyone been case completed on the new form yet? I got the same response Friday when I called(back logged because of the new I-864 form) and are reviewing it. Just curious if they completed anyone yet that was using the new form.

Thanks,
