Ghana specific K1 interview preparation

I agree with everyone who says every question you have is in the guides but I am still going to post this question and hope for the best. I have tried to deduce the answers from reading all country specific posts and find the answers somewhat confusing. Is there a country specific guide that tells you what steps to take once you receive the NOA2 for K1 visa. For example, I previously had to get a "non-impediment to marry" with my previous K1 but it does not seem to be needed with the embassy in Ghana. How long from NOA2 to interview (for Ghana), do I go ahead and call NVC and get a number and then schedule my interview (for Ghana), do I go ahead and have my fiance get the police report a month before the interview or three months before (for Ghana). Maybe it is just me being dumb but I still have questions after reading the guides and posts and going through this for the 2nd time.

No dumb questions at all. I hope someone with Ghana specific info will come along soon to help you. There is no other Ghana guide excpet here in the sub-saharan

regional forum and the Ghana consulate review section.

Meanwhile you can try to enter a search into the VJ search engine (top right), enter "Ghana interview scheduling " etc...and see what pops up. You can also search posts via
portals on the tab.
Ghana can be kind of lengthy in scheduling appointments, don't know how they run currently.

I would the police cert. one month ahead not three.

Its the weekend so you should get some responses next few days. Also look at your Ghana forum and the people;s timeline those who been there done that and PM and ask them that helps also.

But you ask very specific questions nothing wrong with that. Keep it up. At least you did your homework and know what direction to aim. Good for you.

Hi there-

You will need any divorce papers you have for the interview.

NOA2 to interview is a hard one as it is always changing. Once you get your NOA2 wait a week call NVC for your embassy number. Starts with ACC. Once you have that wait a week or so and email the Ghana embassy for your pickup date. Include Pet and Ben birthdays, names, ACC number. They will eventually email you back with a date to pick up packet 3 (which is also packet 4- with interview date). They schedule the interview not you,.

Yes- i would wait on the police certificate so it closer to the interview date/as well as medical.

Also for I-134 use tax transcipts-

Hope that helps

I am waiting to send:

I-134 form

Letter of Intent to Marry

Recent cell phone records

Thanks again.

Pls can u send tax transcripts and letter from employer instead of I-134?

NO. Those items go with the I-134 form. It's not a either or.

Also include most current paystubs

Dear Moderator, since this topic has garnered some responses for Ghana specific K1 interview preparation can you please change the title for me. I am hoping someone going through this same process might be able to find this thread easier if the topic title is changed.

Thanks a lot!

You need to click on the report button and tell the mods. They don't go through every single thread reading. Just report it that way. :)

I have researched the Ghana interview thread and came up with a list of possible questions at the K1 interview so here goes:

How did you meet?
Where does petitioner work?
What does petitioner do for a living?
When did petitioner first come to the US?
What floor does petitioner work on?
What is petitioner’s address?

When did the man propose?

When do you plan to get married?
How many hours does petitioner work?
How many days does petitioner work?
How many times has petitioner come to Ghana?
How long did petitioner stay (each visit)?

What are the names of petitioner’s siblings, parents?

Have you met petitioner’s children/parents?

What are the names of petitioner’s children and how old are they?

What are the names of petitioner’s pets?

(If previously married)

What was petitioner’s husband/wife’s name?

How long were they married?

If you previously applied for a B2 visa for the same person you are going to be asked why you did so and were you planning of getting married on the B2 visa?

You are also going to be asked to write down your fiance(e)’s name on piece of paper (with no hesitation) so be prepared with spelling, etc.

Love is a gift and not to be earned, therefore one should never hold any regrets for giving love regardless of the outcome...
