Hello everyone,

I just met my attorney today and prepared all our papers, and she will send them probably today or tomorrow (it depends when we get our AOS receipt). So, my questions are:

1- How long does it take from NVC to send my file to Morocco (where my wife lives)?

2- When I checked NVC website it showed me that I paid the AOS fee's and I was able to print the receipt, However my attorney said this is not the receipt?

3- What does the IV package means? and when do i have to pay the IV package application?

4- If i'm single in the USA how much annual income i should get in order NOT to have an affidavit? (My attorney said that Since I make more than 18K a year then I don't need an affidavit)

5- What should my wife do before the interview? she is nervous about it since the Consulate have all the power to reject or approve our visa.

I'm an American citizen. I was born and raised in the US. My wife is from Morocco.

If i have any further questions i will add them smile.png

Thank you for your help in advance

1- How long does it take from NVC to send my file to Morocco (where my wife lives)?

When your AOS and IV packages are accepted and reviewed you will get case complete than wait in quque for interview. Once interview is assigned than your case will be sent to embassy

2- When I checked NVC website it showed me that I paid the AOS fee's and I was able to print the receipt, However my attorney said this is not the receipt?

The receipt isnt needed they know you paid. You need to print the bar-coded Cover page thats on the payment portal.

3- What does the IV package means? and when do i have to pay the IV package application?

Huh. Your Lawyer has not talked to you about this. IV mean Immigration Visa. Well you said yo upaid the AOS The IV Bill should have been invoiced same time. Again your lawyer doesnt see this or know this? I am really worried for you.

4- If i'm single in the USA how much annual income i should get in order NOT to have an affidavit? (My attorney said that Since I make more than 18K a year then I don't need an affidavit).

Here is the Poverty Guideline. http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf

Your lawyer should have shown you this also. Every petitioner has to fill out an Affidavit of Support regardless if they have money or not. You are the Main sponsor.

5- What should my wife do before the interview? she is nervous about it since the Consulate have all the power to reject or approve our visa.uides review interview questions. Go to yoru countries forum and read all the interview reviews to see how CO's are at y

Go to the guides and read the interview questions. Go to your coountries forums and read every interview review to see how CO's are at your Embassy.

Everything you submitted at USCIS and NVC should be in her hands also she should review that.

Seiousky you have a lawyer and they are that clueless?

Thank you for your response. Do you think the NVC will finish reviewing all papers and finish it in a month? Also, i Make almost 20K a year. So do you think I need affidavit or not? My lawyer seems to be professional, but she is quite busy. I trust her but i want to make sure everything she is doing is correct. She told me about the AOS cover page and the bar code. It was weird because i paid it and it shows that i paid, so i thought thats enough.

Thank you very much

You NEED to file the Affidavit of Support (Form I-864 or I-864EZ) to get a case complete. If your lawyer has all the information and is doing it for you that's fine. I believe you'd still need to sign it as it is a legal binding contract between you and the US government. You have to do it. There's no do I have to... You HAVE to.

I hope that makes it clearer.

The NVC won't be finished reviewing all the paperwork until everything is in.

Have you looked at the forms yourself or the poverty guidelines? Dwheels provided you with a link to the poverty guidelines.

hi, no need to hire lawyer , you can just read threads here concerning (affidavit of status package) have your documents and send them to NVC , good luck

OP already has a lawyer.

Who says they don't need to file an Affidavit of Support (I-864 paperwork with supporting documents.) So maybe the OP will let us know how that goes.

Or maybe I'm just completely misunderstanding what they're saying.
