Hi Guys

Me and my partner started chatting for the first time via a dating website online and we exchanged numbers and started chatting via whatsapp.

I will be seeing her in person at the airport in USA in June.

Can someone please guide me on how to answer the question?

Thanks

My Fiance wrote a sorta essay explaining how we met and how we started talking and how we fell in love, story on how we first met and succeeding meet ups after the first meeting. (Where, how, when). Then in the form (since the form is very limiting on that question), our lawyer noted "see attachment". Then just attach that letter along with your portfolio.

Our Journey:
11/08/12: NOA1

05/13/13: RFE Hardcopy (Request to send in a legible copy of Annulment Decree)
05/31/13: 2nd RFE Hardcopy (Request to send Intent to Marry Letter)
06/25/13: NOA2

09/02/13: Medical
09/10/13: Personal Evaluation (due to psychological incapacity reason for Annulment)

09/10-12/13: Sputum/Culture Test

09/17/13: PEPS Test (Psychological Evaluation) at EDSA, QC

11/07/13: Culture Results - Negative (Thank God!)

11/13/13: Medical Completed

11/19/13: Embassy Interview - (APPROVED)

12/02/13: VISA Received

12/03/13: CFO Seminar and Registration Completed

12/11/13: Arrived in SFO

02/11/14: Got married

AOS

03/08/14: Mailed AOS Packet to Chicago Lockbox via UPS

03/17/14: NOA1

04/04/14: Received Biometrics Appointment Letter

04/21/14: Biometrics done at San Jose

05/09/14: I485 status changed to Testing and Interview (Interview set for June 11)

05/12/14: Received hardcopy of Interview Schedule

05/22/14: EAD Card in Production

05/28/14: Received USPS Tracking number

05/31/14: EAD card delivered

Me and my fiancé (USC) met online as well - on a game. We applied after we met in real life as well, but I think you could write a similar story based on your own relationship.

This is how we answered the question:

"We both had been playing an online game for 3 years. In Nov. 2011 we started chatting in-game. The chats turned into real conversations about our lives and made us realize we had a lot in common. We exchanged e-mail addresses and Skype info and started seeing each other online every day. We finally met in person in April 2012 when - (name) - traveled to the U.S. to visit me in Colorado. I am traveling to Holland in October 2012."

I assume you'll file your I-129F before you go there in June, considering your question?

If so, what you could do is write a similar explanation (w/o the part where you met in real life already of course, since you haven't) and explain that you are going to (include exact date(s)) and provide evidence of that.

My fiance provided his itinerary and e-ticket copy of the trip he was going to make after we'd file. Make sure you can show them you already bought your plane ticket, booked your hotel, etc.

If you will file after you arrive in June, you could write how you did meet in real life already and provide evidence as a copy of your boarding pass(es).

Good luck.

You should wait to file your petition until after you have met as one of the filing requirements is meeting in person within 2 years of filing. Other than that, I agree short and sweet is fine.

I first met Zahid when I was on vacation in Dubai in February/March of 2012. He was my tour guide for a desert safari. Additionally, he offered to show me the area on a subsequent day. After this trip, we continued to talk on the phone. Since this time, I have made 3 trips back to visit-in May 2012, July 2012, and September 2012.

LOL, I will be getting engaged after I meet her in the USA.

And after that, will be filling in the forms for K-1.

Shall we also mention that we are engaged, or does that not really matter for the question as it really specifically ask about the engagement.

We met online and then met in person in CITY NAME from June xx, 2013 to June xx, 2013.

This looks really good, plus I will also be officially getting engaged ( an engagement party, exchange of rings etc), shall I also include that and the date of engagement?

Thanks

Yes, an engagement ring will be a good secondary evidence. Make sure to retain a receipt from a jeweler.

Concrete facts such as engagement date will do you good. Include the facts in your affidavit.

I think you know but when you visit her in June, keep the air ticket stubs as first-hand evidence and submit the copy of them with a copy of passport page that shows you've entered the U.S..

Itinerary, hotel receipt, pictures etc. will be secondary evidences.

Good luck!!!

Since filing the I-129 is specifically for the K-1 Fiance(e) visa, it's because your are engaged.

You can provide evidence of being engaged once you file, but it has nothing to do with that specific question on the form.

The question is how you met and that's all you have to explain in that box.

Yeah I am really contemplating whether to include a date of our engagement or not for that question.

Really dunno what to do :/

The engagement has no bearing on the meeting in person. You can include it as part fo your evidence of the meeting and of course at the interview for proof of relationship.
