i have been checking the immigration timeline and it didnt show me that there are so many cases that still waiting for approvals from nevember and december and october filers that is why i have been wondering what the NBC is going through good.gif

I was told by the 2nd tier CSR at the USCIS that the file doesn't actually get physically transferred. So.... I am assuming they just have adjudicators assigned to different localtions under the same roof.

BUT I am not stupid enough to think the guy was telling me the truth either. If anyone has more info, please share.

It does seem like the approvals have slowed down and is very frustrating since the NBC was supposed to be faster.

Exactly. I went to my info. pass appointment last friday and asked some questions about our case and 10 minutes after I left I called the USCIS hotline and talked with a tier 2 IO (Immigration Officer) and got completely 2 different stories. So who do I believe????? sleepy.gif There is a member here (Darnell) and he went to info. pass 5 times. And he seemed to hold their feet to the fire which is what is obviously needed to get somewhat correct info. Calling and info. pass appointments for me are useless since I cannot keep going to my local office. My wife and myself are just going to wait not stress. We concentrate more on my trips to visit. We are Feb. filers so hopefully in the next 2-5 months we can get an approval.

hopefully orhers comes and share their experiences as well ...well i am march filer and i tried to get to talk with a tier 2 with no success in that they didnt want to transfer me so i prefered to just call and check every time and wait and be patient until the brighten day that the approval decision will come through but i am just starting this topic just to learn from our experiences and informations to be more aware what we are going through....idea9dv.gif

Folks, February, March, and April filers have nothing to worry about yet. Even January filers are still OK. My I-130 took 111 days to approve and from what I can tell that was a bit on the early side. Infopass appointments are for when you think there is a problem. If we all misuse them then they become a normal part of the process, not something special that lights a fire under the USCIS.

I'm a dual US/Hungarian citizen (both by birth; Hungarian citizenship verification TBA), and my husband is a dual British/Irish citizen (by treaty) from Northern Ireland. We are atheists.

I agree with Speedwell!

You want to use infopass when you're way outside the 5 to 6months processing timeline OR something needs corrected/updated about your case. Otherwise, the officers will spend the time 'talking' about cases without actually and physically working on our cases.

I know this first hand at my office. I work for a gov agency under the State Dept (don't want to name it). Every time we synopsize or put solicitations out to the public and businesses, we get bombarded with phone calls even though we clearly tell potential applicants to follow the instructions or send an email for any clarification. In essence, officers screening these applications stop doing the actual work and thus talking about cases. Thus the reason why we now say no 'telephonic calls' are allowed for solicitations!!!

Well am an april refiler. I had to initially wait 8 months and got denied. We refiled currently at nbc so i guess we have to wait another eight months for the approaval this time. The wait is not easy but take courage. In the end we all will be victors. All best on your journey

I called at least once per week to check the status of my I130 in addition to sending periodic emails for status updates and registering with USCIS's case status service . I filed in October 2012, was told my case was referred to my local field office, received a request to appear for interview in December 2012 and was approved after my interview in January 2013. The local field office had my physical case file including all the documents I sent to USCIS.

I called to day to find out what I could. Talked to a tier 2 person and asked about my pending I130. He told me that it can take from 6 months to a years just for the application approval. So I asked why is it that some approvals are happing with 3 months?, he says " oh no thats not happening". I told him that there are some cases that I know about and it has happened and Im just trying to get some answers about processing times for NBC. His response was...." I told you six months to a year and have a good day" and he hung up. Really? That was so professional!! I see it this way, we are dealing with some freaking clowns that is treating us like we are asking for something for free. This is not cool at all, but I shall call back tomorrow and hopefully get somebody that has knowledge and professionalism.
