"Other than the November and December"...this a large factor that needs more than a mention here...this will put CSC two months ahead of VSC in a matter of a week or two...and with a 6% representation, that makes how many applications that CSC has REALLY approved? I wonder what happened to all of the other types of paperwork that CSC processes...where did that go? Also, there are a good number of VSC july aug and sept filers that would disagree about the five month average...

I am not denying the Noveber and December Approvals would put them ahead, remembering that they were processed out of order concidering how behind CSC was, but that doesn't mean VSC has come to a stand still. VSC, According to Igors list, has 17 July, 44 Aug and 19 September Petitions left. Where as, CSC, despite their rush of approvals still has 57 Sept, 71 Aug and 35 July. My Point is, that while CSC has be cranking out the approvals in one month, VSC has been slow and steady over the last however many months. The Rush at CSC just makes it look like VSC has stopped working because they aren't matching the pace and playing catch up.

Hi, I'm new here. I think the frustration of waiting along with inconsistent approvals (i.e. an October filer being approved the same week as a July filer) just makes it seem so much longer to one and it may appear as a stand still with the service center when in all reality we know that is not the case. the sad truth is that it is just not our turn yet. i can call and question the status of my i-130 three times to customer service and receive three totally different answers. (and yes, i have called three times and got three different answers, lol.)

For starters, this is not a CSC vs. VSC race. In the 6 months that I have been following this website, I have seen drastic changes in both service centers. I filed in October, and at that time CSC was processing in about 3 months and VSC was around 7-8 months. I felt terrible for the VSC filers. But months went by and VSC kicked it into gear and got down to a 5 month processing timeframe while CSC stopped. When I say "stopped" I mean it a lot differently then when you say VSC has stopped. When I filed in October, CSC was working on July. Up until 2 weeks ago, CSC was still working on July. That's 6 months with NO movement. A few weeks ago, I would have done anything to have my file at VSC. In the past 2 weeks, CSC has kicked it into hyper-gear and is doing way more approvals than I thought possible. Quite frankly, both centers are approving October now, and I could care less where my file is.

CSC will not be able to hold this pace for much longer, and I can only hope that they clear their backlog before they go back to a few approvals a day.

VSC is slipping behind, and hopefully they will do something to correct that before it gets too bad. But if you think they are slow now, you should have seen them last year!

The bottom line is that none of us has any control over where our cases go, and none of us has any control over when they will be processed, or in what order.

There's just simply no point in trying to bicker with people that may have cases at the other processing center.

The system is broken. Talk to USCIS. Talk to your representatives. Talk to the media. Try to make a positive change for the people that will come down this road after us.

Apparently we differ on discussion and opinions and what you believe is "bickering"...I have spoken to my congressman and Senator about this and have a meeting scheduled in May to speak about long term goals at USCIS...if we don't each have a voice here and share our thoughts...what's the point of the forums? I have voiced my opinion here...signing out now
