I remember on one of the forms I've submitted to the NVC I ticked a box which said something about giving me a Social Security Number - but now I can't find anything about it on any of the forms.

Did I imagine it? I note that here it says that I can request an SSN as part of my applying to the NVC - is that what I've done?

Thanks for any information on this.

Nothing yet. You should receive it in the mail after you've arrived in the US, takes a few weeks.

Thank you - I had no idea whether there was something more I needed to do, or whether I should have heard something by now, or what.

You've set my mind at rest (well, about that aspect...only a bazillion other things to worry about now!).

Apologies - I didn't know there was a forum for SSN matters, or I would have put it there.
