The first sentence of my K1 NOA2 reads:

'The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate.'

Is this some new type of processing where USCIS sends the petition directly to the consulate and not to NVC? It was an expedite request. Or does everyone's NOA2 say the same thing?

It has been 15 days since approval and NVC does not have my file on record.

All USCIS-approved I-129F petitions have to go through the NVC. It is a bureaucratic departmental hand-off. The NVC is a part of the Department of State (DoS), and USCIS is part of Department of Homeland Security (DHS). While at NVC, the approved petitions will be assigned a DoS Casefile number, DoS works with Casefile numbers, not USCIS receipt numbers. The consulates are part of DoS, and work with Casefile numbers.

Like so much with DHS, the left hand doesn't often know what the right hand is doing.

Good luck.

Hello All. I just got our NOA2 today in the mail with the same sentence. It says i has been forwarded to the listed consulate. The only consulate I see is the Taxas Service Center which is where our petition was processed anyway so how can it be forwarded to where it already was?

Was this a typo and they forgot to state where it was forwarded? Why didn't it get sent to the NVC?

I called the TSC and the man didn't seem like he understoof my question, why does it say forwarded and where? Basically he said it's still in Texas,it's been approved but needs to be process before they send it to the NVC? I don't get it :\
