I need help with a translation into Danish!

Hello!

My husband is wanting to have a tattoo in Danish but we can't afford the $80+ to have it 'professionally' translated. He wants to have the Danish equivalent of 'Be the teaching' but is concerned that the direct google translation of 'være undervisningen' is incorrect or loses the meaning? Basically, 'Be the teaching' is a command related to the teachings of Jesus so technically it is commanding you to live the teachings. It is a mantra to live by, so we want it to translate that way instead of translating it to something like 'be a teacher' or 'be the education'. If anyone can help I would very much appreciate it!

I don't speak Danish, but out of pure curiosity, why do you want it to be in Danish?

My husband says være undervisningen translates as "to be the classroom teaching". I was thinking that the phrase might be hard to translate directly because Danish is a little more limited than English in meanings of words. My husband is trying to come up with a synonym that will work. I'll get back to you.

The other one være undervisning is just the first without the definite article on teaching. The -en ending is like the English "the"

The problem is more with the teaching part. I know what you mean by it, but he is thinking something more like "God's word" or something fits better. We were discussing it and he doesn't think Danish people do things like "the teaching, the lamb, or the word" when referring Christian subjects... I'm going to post it over in the Scando thread and maybe a Christian Dane will know something that fits better.
