Ok so my friend was approved for a tourist visa. We were surprised cause he has no money and all I did was write a letter saying I would pay for everything. He is Venezuelan and told the interviewer he was planning on staying a few months. He said he was called back 3 times and they finally said he was approved. I think it is because he was a student in the US before and her returned.

Anyones here is my main question. He has Venezuelan Passport. He lives in Merida, Venezuela. It is much much cheaper to fly from Bogota Colombia. Is it possible to fly from Bogota to the US on a venezuelan passport. He is also a Colombian citizen but only have a Venezuelan passport.

Also is a round trip ticket required? We were planning on having him come April 26 and leave October 2. Is this possible? We were hoping to buy tickets separately.

Thank you for your time.

Firstly he must purchase a round trip ticket or else he maqy be sending a message that he does not plan to return which could trigger him being sent back.

On the passport, i think as long as he has a valid visa to enter the US and unexpired passport then he is fine regardless where he is coming from and what country's passport he possesses.

GOD has been WONDERFUL!!!

Are tourist visas good for 6 months stay?

Typically there is a 180 maximum but that is never a guarentee. Entrance and duration of stay is up to the CBP

good luck

Very true... No to mention that 1 round-trip ticket will be much cheaper than 2 one-way tickets.

No they are not, it will be upto the officer at POE.

They make a call on how long they would let someone stay in the country.

What is more difficult? Getting the visa or actually entering?

So it is okay to purchase a 5 month gap in return tickets?

Ok So I bought his ticket for April 24th to Sept 30th. Do you think he will have problems at the airport. He has an invitation letter saying he has all expenses paid. I mean he got his tourist visa with the letter. Will he have problems?
