Just got NVC case number - Help!

Hi, folks. Just when you think everything's going perfectly, the universe laughs.

We FINALLY got our NVC case number... they are inputting it into the system as I type... and here's the shocker. Even though my husband is a UK citizen and has a UK address, and we filed the I-130 with his UK passport (we were even married in the UK), the NVC number starts with DBL, indicating processing through Dublin in the Republic of Ireland, rather than LON (processing through London in the UK). What in the name of fried green tomatoes, I asked the air. This was totally not what we planned on. Yes, he's a Northern Irishman (as if you couldn't tell from the Red Hand of Ulster in my avatar). But to be processed in a completely different country? Can that be correct?

Is it OK for him to use his UK passport to be processed in Dublin? Has anyone gone through the process in Dublin?

I'm a dual US/Hungarian citizen (both by birth; Hungarian citizenship verification TBA), and my husband is a dual British/Irish citizen (by treaty) from Northern Ireland. We are atheists.

Did that. Some clueless jobsworth saw "Northern Ireland" and thought it was the same as "Ireland". Damn American education. (grumble grumble) Northern Ireland, being part of the UK, must go to London. Belfast will process nonimmigrant visas, but this is an immigrant visa.

Fortunately a supervisor noticed it right away or we would have had to write to NVCInquiry and request it be changed!
