I got my welcome letter yesterday. Is it just me or does it seem anti-climactic? I would have preferred to receive my SSN ... but I will be patient for another week or so.

There are a couple jobs that I wanted to apply for and when I contacted them they told me they would disregard my application because I have not yet received my SSN. There was no ifs, ands, or buts about it. It's kind of depressing. :crying:

On the UPside, my 15 yr old niece from Toronto asked if she can come spend her spring break with me because she misses me and doesn't see us enough! At least I will have the whole week to spend with her!!!

Can the Naturalizatin process be so painless?!!

Congratulations on getting your letter and that ss card will be there shortly. Sounds like you will have some time to enjoy your neice coming to visit. Nice to know you are missed and loved and that they are coming just to visist you. Gives you all kinds of goosebumps. Have a great visit and all done for 2 years. Yah....

Congratulations!

Don't rely on the SS card arriving. As soon as you have your greencard take that, and your passport, to your local SS office and ask them to check if you're in the system. I didn't get mine, but it arrived about 8-10 days after visiting them.

Good luck!
