Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone can give me some insight; maybe the Ticos that already went through the CR1 Process.

Our case was completed back in March 14th and we are now waiting on the interview date, just wondering how long should we wait to receive this information?

Also, is there anything else we should be expecting? I've gone through the Wiki and it mentions a Packet 3 but I am not sure if I am to receive that before I receive the Interview Date or after.

Any insight will be really helpful!

Thank you

You won't get the packet 3 - that's for the K-1 visa - but you can expect to get an email from NVC with your interview details, which is the "packet 4". Unfortunately you can't do anything to get the interview date sooner (I've been waiting since March 5th, but there are some that have been waiting for months), since it really depends on how busy your embassy/consulate is. What you can do is:

1) Go to this link ( http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?op6=All&op7=Costa+Rica&dfile=No&op1=&op2=&op3=5&op4=1&op5=5%2C6%2C8%2C10%2C11%2C13%2C14%2C15%2C16%2C17%2C18%2C20%2C21%2C22%2C25%2C26%2C27%2C28%2C108%2C110%2C111%2C208%2C210%2C211&cfl=0 ) to look at timelines from other Costa Rica filers to see how long they had to wait, and;

2) Come over to this month's interview thread ( http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/422032-may-2013-interviews/page__st__30 ) to add your name to the list and commiserate with the rest of us still waiting for interviews. smile.gif

Good luck!

oopartiv is right. Also,ideally, the first notice you should get about your interview is through an email from NVC but sometimes people find out their dates days and even weeks before NVC sends the email. So a call to NVC every now and then to ask if you have been assigned a date is in order.

While you are waiting, get the final police report if the old one has or is about to expire--be sure it is the international version or they will send you back if you only have the local version--happened to us. Also go get the medical if you haven't already. The embassy will give you the list of docs.

Hi Magical,

You mean get it certified at Casa Amarilla? I have the regular Costa Rican one I'm not sure what you mean about International version.

Also, Embassy hasn't provided me with any Doctor list, should I contact them and ask or wait for them to contact me?

Thanks for your help!

Thank you everyone else for the help!

I don't have the police report handy, but it said international on it...if it doesn't, it is the local version.

The list of docs is at the CR portal tab at the top of this page, but I don't know how old it is so you can get a fresh copy from the embassy, or just call the list here for an appointment and if they no longer do work for the embassy, they will tell you.
