DS-230 is a different form, its not for choice of agent. DS 3032 is choice of agent form and you can email it using a template, you can find it on this site. Choice of agent has to be selected so they can contact this person for all communication, like interview letter and other things. The template is straight forward and i emailed it like everyone else and it was accepted. DS-230 has to be signed by beneficiary on page 2 only, its 4 pages. You send ds230 with police certificate and other documents. You track your case by calling. Did you pay iv fee? Its $230 and when it shows paid online then you send ds230.

You are required assign an agent. It does not have to be a lawyer. My husband assigned me as I am here in the US and it is easier for contacting purposes. The choice is yours, but you must choose. None is not an option.

After the affidavit of support there is still the DS-230. Once this is paid for online it can be sent in to the NVC as well. Once they have reviewed these things they will decide if they approve the case or not. Assuming they do and all goes well, you will receive an email from them telling you the next steps. OUrs took about a week after receiving everything, but that is just a rough time frame. That the case is done and waiting on an interview date. You can track this by calling the NVC and asking for a case update.

Good Luck with the final phase of your CR-1 journey! :star:

Go to the link. Read the first two posts and every link therein.

It'll be okay, stop stressing. Assigning an agent simply states who they send the information to but because they have both emails, they normally send it to both. It's an outdated form but is necessary for them to invoice the IV and make it so the beneficiary can send the IV package with the ds-230.

Your IV Bill will not be invoiced until they get the DS-3032. You can assign yourself if you wish.

You asked how do you track your case going forward. You call. Thats the only way you know AOS was accepted and DS-230 package.

You should at least call NVC so they have both Beneficiaries email and Petitioners.
