Really? I didn't think it would be either of those, I was thinking they would use taxable income line 43 or maybe 41. Maybe that's just mortgage lenders then...

They do not use AIG from the 1040. If you are self-employed, they will go by what is on line 22 of your 1040 which is TOTAL INCOME. If you are not self-employed, list your current annual income on the I-134 and provide a letter from your employer and most recent pay stub(s) to prove it.

Not if you have adjustments to income. They USE line 22 and total income is not always the same as AGI, otherwise they would not need that section, would they?
