Anyone use anything other than western union to wire money? I've sent 5 times with them and now all of a sudden they tell me I need to go to a location to send the wire. I prefer doing it online.

Xoom.com works great. I send from my computer and never had issues. $4.99-$5.99 per transacation. I have sent up to 500 dollars for $5.99

I like xoom. I now send directly from my bank account with Wells Fargo, which is simpler and more straightforward for me, and the rates are pretty much the same.

I've used Xoom as well. Usually the money is available within a few minutes of the transfer. Can be picked up at many different locations and they charge a flat fee of I think 4.99 for up to $2000USD.

My fiance sends me money through paypal. He wired his bank to paypal. I just then transfer paypal to my unionbank account. I opened my unionbank account for this sole purpose and it was very easy and cheap. The unionbank EON card serves as a debit/atm card so I find it very safe and convenient to carry with me here in the Philippines since majority of the places either have an ATM or accepts Visa Another thing I find good with this way is that even if I have transferred every penny to my account but I decide to buy things online through paypal, I can still access the money. I haven't had any problems with it also.

Down side of this is that my fiance usually waits 3 days from his bank to paypal and then from paypal to the EON card it's another 3 days. If you don't like the wait then yeah it's a problem but it has taught me to budget well in case of emergencies and wait )

I'm all good with it and so is my fiancee since he is so worried with me being mugged because I carry cash. Better to carry plastic he says It depends though if you prefer it that way.

I just sent something by Xoom instantly from my checking account and it was available for pick up. If you want them to receive it in US dollars it cost $7.99. I want them to receive it in US dollars because they get a better exchange rate. Xoom don't a favorable rate.

walmart also has money in min. you can send also usd or php. 9.00usd to send i used xoom before and had my account scammed .i have used WU and had my money scammed, i prefere to do it in person now least chance of getting scammed. walmart sends it maneygram. never had a problem. there are some special rules to send to hong kong though
