I log in every few days to check my AOS status. Last night I tried logging in and it gave me an error: "Inactive Account". Now in order to log in I need to "correct the error". Hilarious - I guess I should call up USCIS and tell them to process my darn case already?! (kidding) Has anyone had this problem? Hopefully I can still check the status using my MSC# but I haven't tried yet.

I applied for AOS well over 7 months ago, but it has been 6 months since they received my RFE response. It's still sitting at NBC - collecting dust apparently. Groan.

Don't even log in. Just go to www.uscis.gov and put your MSC# and it will tell you your status. That is what I have been doing without loggin into my account.

Sent I-129 Application to VSC 2/1/12
NOA1 2/8/12
RFE 8/2/12
RFE reply 8/3/12
NOA2 8/16/12
NVC received 8/27/12
NVC left 8/29/12
Manila Embassy received 9/5/12
Visa appointment & approval 9/7/12
Arrived in US 10/5/2012
Married 11/24/2012
AOS application sent 12/19/12

AOS approved 8/24/13

Yes, I had this same problem today.

Their message is misleading. I've been "active" almost every single day.

The issue is not lack of activity, but that your passport automatically expires after 90 days. I guess when they first setup that system, they were completing the cases in less than 3 months!

Once you click on the link in that message to change your password, it all works again.

I think WorldTravelers meant to write that your 'password' expires after 90 days, not your passport. :D That 90 day expiry limit drove me up the wall, too. :)
