This is going to slow us down, considerably I'm afraid. (we're expecting NOA2 any day/week now)

CSC?

I think you will have plenty of time before the NOA2 arrives, unless you are one of the few lucky "early" NOA2's from CSC around your filing date.

Hmmm I was in Dubai with my fiance between Jan 2012 to July 2012 on a visit visa. Will I have to present a police certificate? Even though I am the petitioner?

my fiancee is from Slovakia, but has been living in Czech Republic since November (4 months). She will likely be there for over 6 months before she leaves to enter US on K1. Does this mean she needs to get a Criminal report from Czech Republic ? I don't understand.

Yes, she will (if she is living over there when she goes to the interview, it is almost certain)

Good luck in your visa journey!

The website link you posted didnt work. Can anyone tell me what is the website to find the information of what my fiance needs for the police record? He is a Brazilian citizen and has lived in Spain for 10 years. Thank you

I think you'll find all the links and info you need there: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Brazil&cty=Rio%20De%20Janereiro (in "additional info", but I'd read the whole thing...)

no, just the beneficiary needs it.

Your fiancé WILL need one if she was there for 12 months or more, and might need one if she/he has been there 6 months or more.

What is requested at the embassy can be embassy specific. You should check on the embassy website if you find that info. If you don't, ask on the regional forum

I just want to throw this out there about the police certificates...***for some countries you will NOT be able to obtain a police certificate without a letter stating that you need one.*** My fiance and I are having this problem now. We were trying to get his Canadian police record from Chile and we started looking into this weeks ago. The municipality in Santiago is slowing us down because they won't take his finger prints without proof he needs this done. Also, Mounties aren't accepting digital finger prints at the moment we have to do things the old fashioned way with ink and snail mail -_- We need the finger prints sent to Canada however it's going to take at least 2 months or more for us to get the certificate in return. We just got out NOA 2 yesterday. We feel kind of screwed right now.

8/28/12 - I-129F packet sent to Dallas Lock Box
9/1/12 - Packet Receipt Date

3/5/13 - NOA2 hard copy
3/?/13 - NVC Received petition

4/29/13 - Interview (APPROVED!!!)

5/14/13 - Passport received

I am sorry for you guys.

Just to cheer you up, even though sometimes international mail can be slow, I just sent mail (regular, cheap mail) from france to New zealand, it got there in 4 business days...So you can also get lucky (I hope you will!)

Good luck in your visa journey!

Thank you so much! :) You could be right and we may get lucky, but My fiance has had to wait 6 months from things to arrive to Chile from Canada. We kind of have a plan to avoid some of the wait. We're thinking that my fiance should just get the finger prints in Chile and express mail it to the USA. Then from here I express mail it to Canada using the USA address. Canada wont express mail it back but we're it'll probably take less time mailing from Canada to the USA. I'll see him before the interview anyway so I can just hand deliver the police certificate to him. Sure, it'll still take 2 months to process but my logic is that faster we get it to them there's a chance we'll get the certificate a little quicker.

Mailing it express costs more too but I'm willing to pay it to prevent our interview getting pushed back any farther.
