Hi everyone,

Our petition got approved yesterday and we are still very happy.

Nonetheless I have started to gather all the necessary paperwork. One can't start to early right?!? ;)

I was wondering if there is someone from Aruba, Bonaire or curaçao on this forum who had to go to the embassy in Venezuela.

I would like to hear their experiences

Thank you in advance

Hi! I've a venezuelan friend who also live in Curaçao and she is about to obtain her interview date at Caracas embassy. She is very very friendly and the only venezuelan member I know that is actually living in Curaçao, her vj member is Sandris&Jim. But basically if you are going to have your interview at Caracas you must follow the same instructions as everybody else who's attending that embassy.

Congratulations! You are starting on time. This will take more time than it seems it should.

I am also currently waiting for a visa interview for a CR1 visa. I am based in Curaçao, and expect any day now to hear about my interview date from the National Visa Center.

I just communicated with Caracas over email a few days ago and indeed Bonaire, Curaçao and Aruba applicants are treated no differently than Venezuelan candidates. But there is the additional caveat that we are travelling overseas to do the visa interview. There are physicians on Aruba that work with the Embassy in Caracas where you can do your medical exam, so you don;t have to travel to Caracas for that. The process where the Embassy delivers the visa back to you is slightly different than for Venezuelan residents. Aruba, Curaçao and Bonaire residents have to go back to the Embassy a few days after the interview to pick up their passports. Email immigrantcaracas2@state.gov for more information.

No I'm not married. We applied for the K-1 visa.

I don't know how come my posts are in the CR-1 spousal visa forum.

How do I change that?

Thank you

Hi. I'm waiting for my K-1 visa. Somehow my posts are under CR1 post. Not sure how this happen.

So u will have to go to Caracas also, right? Please let us know how the interview went.

I knew that there was one little difference when it comes to the visa for Venezuelan and People from Aruba, curaçao and Bonaire.

Thank you for clarifying this for me. I was wondering already how are we gonna fly back home if they are keeping our passport.

Do u know how many days we will have to wait?

Ryan already moved this post to the K1 forum, I will move the others. In future, just go directly to the forum: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/80-k-1-fiancee-visa-process-procedures/ and then hit Start New Topic, thoiugh it loks like you will soon be moving on to AOS from Famil Visa, once your fiance gets to the USA: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/7-adjustment-of-status-green-card-from-family-based-visas/

Thank you so much. I will make sure to post it right next time :)

I'm the beneficiary, my fiancé is the US citizen.

I thought that I had put it on my profile but I guess I did not.

I haven't post much on the site so I'm still trying to find my way.

You wait 1 or 2 days after the interview, also K1 cases may be different from CR1 like mine. Best to email Caracas about this.

I'll post a review of the embassy when I'm done.

Also another question: any reason you are doing the K1 and not opting to get married on Aruba and then apply for IR1?

Hello!

What a great idea to start this forum. I am Andrea's friend. At the beginning of my process I called USCIS to find out where my interview would be, considering I am living in Curacao (I am the fiancee). After confirming it would be in Caracas, they said I should receive the passport the very next day. I also applied in Caracas for my current tourist visa and it was like that. Anybody knows whether once we receive the date of the interview by email, do we have to confirm the notification? Good luck everybody!!
