Congrats to you GoNiners... It's not easy going through all these process. My interver will be in couple of weeks and I can't wait though I'm a little scared.

Please don't be scared. It's really not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. You'll do great!

Why did you think it was going to be bad?

I guess for me it was more a fear of the unknown. I've been a LPR for many years (My parents emigrated when I was a child and, while I remain very close to my family in France, I grew up in the Bay Area.) so, apart from having to renew my card every 10 years, I've never had many dealings with USCIS, unlike most of the people on these boards. Most of my dealings have been with the French government, which can be horribly painful and very frustrating in and of itself, so I guess that fear translated over. The naturalization process has actually turned out to be pretty cut and dried and comparatively easy (surprisingly so), at least for me. It also doesn't help that I work in the legal field, so I have a healthy respect for/fear of any bureaucracy in general! LOL! I can't speak for what happens at other field offices, but at the San Francisco office, everyone was treated with respect and dignity, and all of the employees were very professional and courteous. As long as you've got all of your ducks in a row, anybody dealing with them should be fine.

Too bad I didn't find this forum much sooner, or I could have at least tried to do things differently, not to have to reschedule.

Just curious... are any of you that sent your application in March, still waiting not done?

FYI... Did you know that you can actually do a walk-in Biometric appointment? May be you should, in that it might speed up your process a little bit. Because one thing I know for a fact, is once your biometric is complete is then that they will actually start working on your stuff, why? they will use the Bio for FBI background checks on you.

Please don't be scared. It's really not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. You'll do great!

Hi. I just got an rfe (yellow letter) after being scheduled for interview. They are asking me to bring my state ID to interview? Did anyone get an rfe like this?

Yes Kbanks, I got one and it was way after I got my interview letter. They told me to bring my Selective Service Registration. So I think it's a normal thing

That is normal like Gboree stated. You should be getting your Interview appointment letter shortly if you haven't received it yet.

Woot! hopefully they'll send me the oath letter soon.

"On June 3, 2013, we placed your application in the oath scheduling que. Naturalization Applicants: you will receive your certificate at your oath ceremony. You can expect to be scheduled for an oath ceremony within 45 days of receiving your recommended approval."
