In Forest Park, GA, Clayton County. High School Principal Delphia Young called 9th and 10th grade Spanish Speaking students to the school lunchroom and told them that she was tired of all the gang violence and that she didn't want the gangs tagging in her school and if it didn't stop she would call Immigration to have students deported.

Okay this is offensive but what offended the Hispanics in this community was not that they were all branded Gang-Bangers, nor that they were accused of being violent and defacing school property--the hispanic students and parents were offended that the Principal stated she was start making referrals to Immigration. Some of the hispanic students replied that they were not the only ones in gangs that many different gangs exist and that all students should have been warned about gang membership and committing gang violence.

Okay what the hell? Being labelled a gang-banger, a thug, a vandal, someone without respect of human life or public property is okay--but when someone states that they will have immigration investigate your immigration status you then take offense???

Also in a reaction the Principal's comments the school system and the Principal have apologized and the School Superintendant stated that Immigration Officers are not allowed on school property.

In accordance with Georgia law, "The Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act," I am required to display the following in any and all languages that I may give immigration related advise:

'I AM NOT AN ATTORNEY LICENSED TO PRACTICE LAW AND MAY NOT GIVE LEGAL ADVICE OR ACCEPT FEES FOR LEGAL ADVICE.'

"NO SOY ABOGADO LICENCIADO PRACTICAR LEY Y NO PUEDO DOY ASESORAMIENTO JURÍDICO O ACEPTO LOS HONORARIOS PARA El ASESORAMIENTO JURÍDICO."

My assumption is they were more offended by being singled out and stereotyped (for lack of a better word). It was reported that the students were either U.S. citizens or in the country legally and she told only Hispanic students that she would have them deported or that she would bring in the "INS". If the entire class was threatened as a whole rather than based on their ethnicity, they probably would have been offended at being labeled a gang-banger.

The Hispanic Community in this country can kiss my azz!! They totally ignore the gang and other problems they have and ONLY give a shiit about Immigration. "Oh please don't build a wall, that's inhumane, my cousin Juan will have a harder time coming here illegally"

Some of my best friends have been Hispanic and they don't like it either.

How come they aren't offended by MS-13????

Gonna try again.

Building a wall is racist? What planet are we on? Installing a minefield on the border would be crossing the line but how can anyone be against building a wall? They must have illegal workers or relatives.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Not necessarily. Because of our situation, I have had more conversations than I would normally have with all kinds of people about this wall-from the gyno to my uncles-and the vast majority of them think the wall is a bad idea, waste of money, etc. etc.

The 'waste of money' is the only valid argument (IMHO). But I don't see a moral problem with building a wall. Do you?

I don't see a moral problem with it.

I do, however, see the economic issues regarding the wall. It will be mighty expensive to build and maintain. Furthermore, how effective will the wall really be? Couldn't illegals go over or under it? Couldn't they go around it to areas where the wall isn't set up (since it doesn't cover every bit of border)?

All in all, the wall seems sort of expensive and useless to me. I'm not against a good plan to keep illegals out, but this just doesn't seem like it's the right one.

In my opinion if it werent so easy for illegals to stay in America they might not be so apt to come here.

I know the children need an educaton blah blah blah but if they weren't allowed to go to school without proof of citizenship or legal residency, would the parents be so gung ho to come here?

The laws need to be changed not only for the worker program but to make it easier to report and deport illegals, so that the ones that are here are going thru the (pain in the ###) process like the rest of us.

I can see how hard they are trying to assimilate into the US in so many areas.. They have a sweet deal. Come in as they please. Steal jobs from Americans. Pay minimal tax, if any then have the nerve to complain about the principals comment. A principal in a US tax payer funded school.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Yes, that's the point. Expensive and useless, is exactly what it would be.

Technically is anyone employing and illegal immigrant aiding a Federal criminal?

Mark my word, in a number of years these same law breakers will turn around and demand so-called justice and claim they are being mistreated by employers, are unfairly not being helped by the government, unfairly being made to wait at INS unlike marriage visa apps and their kids are being discriminated against and not being assisted to go to college etc..

The students were all either citizens or legal residents...

well like every other resident if they are caught in gangs or committing crimes they should be thrown out..

And I tend to think the gang involvement, much like the students' immigration status, was an assumption on the part of the Principal. And we all know what happens when you ASSume.

I think a lot of people have seen areas being overrun by Hispanic gangs. I forgot the stats but I remember seeing how a large portion of felons in CA are of Hispanic origin or illegal immigrants, one of the two.. lets not even talk about all of the drug trafficking that is going on by groups like MS-13..

That's correct. There are plenty of Hispanic bad guys, as there are of every other race. But just like not every teenage white male who skateboards, also smokes pot; similarly not every teenage Hispanic youth is in a gang. And to assume they are, just because they are of a certain race is like the definition of racism.
