We sent the paperwork in on the 21st, and it was officially received on the 25th. Got the NOA1 email on 2/28. Now we hurry up and wait! :clock: Thankfully I'll be here in Lesotho until my Peace Corps service is over in August, but we even live 14 hours apart here. Not complaining though!

Hiya, we knew our packet was received on 25th Feb. Today got hardcopy NOA1 dated 27th Feb so turned out to be a genuine Feb filer.

Hope the service centers will boost their processing soon!

>So what are you guys doing to prepare for everything that's ahead of you even at this very early stage?

1. Get a police certificate from the foreign country you resided over 6 months after age of 16. Tokyo Embassy accepts certificates less than 1 year old at the interview. I got one from Ireland. It took 1.5 months to obtain.

2. Get myself and dog vaccinated at a local clinic. It seems to be cheaper than to have them at an Embassy-designated doctor. You can just bring the vaccination record to medical at a designated doctor. Should call the designated doctor first to confirm which shots you need.

3. Enjoy local food, hot springs, time with friends, beautiful scenery inside country !!!

Cheers to you all.

February 2013 here as well. Mistakenly wrote March above, can't edit it now. The story so far:

2/23 - Mailed package to Dallas lockbox, USPS priority.

2/25 - USPS tracking shows received.

3/1 - Check cashed. Receive this text message 3:43pm EST:

USCIS: Your case was received. Receipt # EACXXXXXXXXXXX. Official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) to follow in mail.

Also at 3:43pm, I simultaneously receive the following email:

Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS Vermont Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number EACXXXXXXXXXXX. With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.gov where you can check the status of your case using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status.

This confirmation provides notification of the date USCIS received your case. This notice does NOT grant any immigration status or benefit. You MAY NOT present this notice as evidence that you have been granted any immigration status or benefit. Further, this notice does NOT constitute evidence that your case remains pending with USCIS. The current status of your case must be verified with USCIS.

PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE

3/7 - I receive hard copy of NOA1 (I-797C, to be exact) in the mail, postmarked 3/4. The form shows received date 2/26, notice date 2/28, last day of February. I input our receipt number into USCIS and see "alien registration number changed," blah blah.

That's that.
