Yes, those in the UK are lucky to be able to have advance medicals done. As soon as you have the letter from NVC with the case number written on it, you can book a medical!

Fab! Thank you!! So do I need an actual hard copy letter or can I call up and book once they give me my case number over the phone?

I'm a little confused. You said it was ACCEPTED on January 22, but then that it hasn't been REVIEWED yet. If they accepted it, it means they reviewed it....

I think the fact that they email us saying it has been received leads us to feel it has been ACCEPTED. I know it was confusing to me when I got the message.

You're welcome! For the actual medical, you'll need the letter, but when booking I'm guessing all you'd need is the case number as they can't really prove over the phone you don't have the letter laughing.gif

Yeah, there's a huge difference between all the steps, each with its own distinct meaning.

First step -> Sending the DS-3032 email

Second step -> Get the email from NVC saying they RECEIVED it (auto-generated)

Third Step -> NVC reviews it

Fourth step -> NVC accepts (or denies) it

Fifth step -> NVC adds it to the casefile (if accepted)

Sixth step -> NVC invoices IV bill

etc, etc, etc

I'm petitioning for my mom...

Question on AOS, I stop from working since last year when i had my baby. How will I do the AOS, will my husband & I are filing up I-864? or I'll file I-864 and my husband will fill up I-864A?

another question, am i going to attached our tax 2009, 2010 & 2011 on both I-864 forms since we filed our tax jointly or just my husband?

thanks!

You will fill up I-864.

Your husband will fill up I-864A.

Attached taxes 2009, 2010 & 2011 since you are filing jointly. No need for separate copies/duplicates.

I'm interested to know what y'all think on this topic: is it better to send the AOS package as soon as your bill shows "PAID" in the portal, or is it better to ship both the AOS and the IV packages together once you've paid the IV bill? We are shipping from Ireland, so if it doesn't make a difference, it would save me about 80 dollars to ship the packages together. That being said, it would be 80 bucks well spent if sending the AOS package as quickly as I can would, in fact, cause us to have Case Complete faster, so I wouldn't begrudge the money. Thanks for your input! :)

Hahah very true!! Okay last question (for now ;P) .... how soon/when do you get the letter from NVC? Do they send it pretty much as soon as they assign your case number? Also do they mail it to petitioner or beneficiary? Just because I wouldn't want to book medical and then not have the letter! :D

It probably won't get you a case complete faster by sending the AOS package first as they would still need the IV package. Only advantage of sending the AOS first is that NVC would review it faster (instead of waiting to send it with the IV package), so they'd review it sooner. And if there's an error or something missing, you'll have that extra time to send a checklist response.

But, it's up to you. Personally, if I had to mail the packages, I would send the AOS as soon as I could, then the IV as soon as I could.

The answer depends. If you give over both email addresses when the case number is assigned, then you'd receive the letter by email within a few days. If you don't give over email addresses, then expect to receive the letter by snail mail a few weeks later. Up to you how soon you get it (and how) ;)

Experts, please help me this out. I paid AOS fee and it generated a cover sheet. But now I've enrolled in EP, the case number is changed. I wonder if it matters the cover sheet with old case number. If not, what should I do? :help:

Many thanks in advance!

Hey saylin, thanks for the quick reply

That is why i am confused as well... to me they have received it but have not put it in the system I hope.. but i'm thinking something is wrong somewhere I've never heard of any VJ member getting the IV bill in the whole 20 days. Should i contact a supervisor or just wait it out ? I'm really begging them to send the bill so they can take my money lol

I think the fact that they email us saying it has been received leads us to feel it has been ACCEPTED. I know it was confusing to me when I got the message.
