hello everybody,

Im new to this site, my question is, my wifes IR1 case was reaffirmed and sent back to the embassy in Accra Ghana. Now the embassy gave my wife interview date next week Jan. 24 2013. Im wondering if MY wife has to pay a new visa fee? PLEASE I NEED HELP, IM CONFUSED ABOUT THIS.

No the Visa fee is already paid. No worries there.

I think there is now another fee to USE the visa in USA. YOu can pay it before or after arrival but you dont get your green card unless you pay it.

May 24, 2011 NOA1

Sept 11, 2011 NOA2-took 19 days to get case number

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

INTERVIEW RESULTS-APPROVED WITH 14 WEEKS AP--but he got his visa in 56 days!!!!!!

PLEASE EDIT YOUR TIMELINE IN YOUR PROFILE SO OTHERS CAN LEARN HOW LONG EACH STEP TAKES IN THIS PROCESS

eh - it's 165 for a green card, if'n she hits the poe on or after 1 FEB 2013,

but - you can pay that online after the interview or even after she arrives in the USA.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

So its all going to depend on when you get your Visa packet.

Who Needs to Pay the Fee

Any individual who on or after February 1, 2013 receives an immigrant visa package from a United States consulate or embassy abroad (including Canada and Mexico) will pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee.

IF the visa is issued at the IV unit on or after 1 FEB 2013, then there's another fee for the green card to be issued.

Payment for it is online, so that's a plus.
