We arrived at the USCIS office in Detroit at 10:05am, our interview was at 10:15. We were asked for our appointment letter and our ID's at security, then went to the registration desk and were again asked for the appointment letter and ID's, he stamped the back of our appointment letter and gave it back to us and told us to sit down and our name would be called. We waited maybe 10 minutes and our name was called. The interview was pretty straight foreward. A nice gal named Officer Markay interviewed us. We took an oath before it started. She asked my husband his name and birthday and asked for our marriage license and his passport, she took his I-94 out and said she was going to put it with our file. She asked him what is my name and my birthday. Where we live, does he work yet,has he ever been to the united states before, has he ever been denied a visa before, has he ever been deported from the United States. These kinds of questions lasted maybe 5 minutes. She asked my husband how we met and then asked me if my family was nervous about me going to meet him. She asked me if i had ever been out of the country before going to Morocco. She asked me where i work. Simple questions, nothing that you cant answer if you know your husband/wife. She then asked him the same 10 or so questions that are on the I-485. Does he do drugs, is he or does he plan to be a prostitute, to overthrow the government. ect. After asking those questions she asked if we had any other documents we'd like to give her. To me this interview seemed more or less a verification of the information that was submitted with the application. She told us at the end of the interview she couldnt tell us if we were approved and we'd find out by mail and if she needed anything else she'd contact us. We are now at home and my husband checked the USCIS website and it said we are Approved :) It was a good day! I am truely thankful that this website is available, i have had so many questions answered simply by searching what others have asked before. God bless you all and the journey you are on.

wooooo hhhhhhooooo for both of us!!!! My hubby got approved today too!!! Easy short interview and same answer (that we would find out if we were approved or not in the mail) and after a week we saw today on the USCIS website that we were approved!!!

Yay for Morocco!!!

Our love began in 2010....our Journey in 2012 (January) and now we are at peace until 2014!

Timeline (kinda-- Im not putting exact dates- just months~)

--January 2012-- Sent our I-485 and I-130 packet off :)

--February 2012-- Touch-- Need more evidence.

--February 2012-- Sent more evidence.

--March 2012-- Biometrics and Doctors App (around the same time)

--June 2012-- (BIG PROBLEM) Immigration sent us a 'DENIAL' letter due to not having a sponsor (I thought we didnt need one)

--June 2012-- we hired a lawyer and got a sponsor, got the I-290B Motion to Appeal or Reopen had everything sent off by the end of July 2012.

--October 2012-- OUR APPEAL WAS APPROVED (breath easy, we didn't have to wait too long)

--October 2012-- Work permit sent-- got SSN

--November 26th, 2012-- AOS interview-- Got sent out told to get a translator and new interview date would be sent. :(

--January 8th, 2013-- Second interview...went well but no idea if we were approved or denied....VERY STRESSFUL!!

--January 15th, 2013-- APPPPPPRRRROOOOVVVEEEED!!!!!! (checked on USCIS web site)

--January 18th, 2013-- Card Production Ordered....welcome letter (hard copy) in the mail!!! :)

--January 24th, 2013--CARD IN HAND!!! DONE!!!!!

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
