hi guys...

i was wondering if anyone has had issues with waiting a long time to get an interview? i have sent a few emails to the NVC and to the cairo embassy trying to find out what are status is... basically im getting a run around withthese emails.. here is a copy of what they said....

this one is from cairo embassy: Please note that immigrant visa case is currently being processing at the National Visa Center (NVC). Once the NVC schedules an appointment for her visa interview, they will send her file to our office for processing

heres what the NVC said: The petition is waiting for an appointment to be scheduled at the U.S.

Embassy or Consulate in CAIRO, EGYPT. When an interview appointment is

scheduled, the petitioner, principal applicant, designated agent, and

attorney of record (if applicable) will be notified.

any help would be great

thanks

Holly

My guess is, by the end of this month the latest. Tomorrow the earliest. Everyone is waiting for the Feb. interviews... an interview for IR1/CR1 hasn't been scheduled for just about 30 days now.....

The Embassy can't help you. IR1/CR1 interviews are scheduled through NVC. When did you get case complete? That will help figure maybe what you are looking at as far as time. I know Cairo is a 1 to 3 month wait from case complete. So prepare.

Case Complete to Interview spreadsheet

From now on your VJ Member name will be verified. If the name you put on form to be added to spreadsheet comes up not found, you will not be added to the spreadsheet. If you don't have a timeline you will not be added to the spreadsheet.

Did you call and double check that you have ALL your documents in? All the originals were sent and you don't have anything missing in your file? Once it is complete then it should only take 1 -2 months to get the date for the interview....then from that time the interview is usually 6 weeks out. I would make sure again and again by calling that everything is complete. :) Hope everything moves fast for you!

When next you call NVC, ask directly:

Is my casefile in the scheduling queue, or no? Can you estimate how many casefiles are ahead of me?

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
