Received RFE

I am finally able to check my case status on line and USCIS has sent out the dreaded RFE in the mail. I know it is futile at this point to call to see what it is as they will not provide any info. I have gone thru the copy of the AOS package that I sent and wondering what it could be the following:

1. We filed for an extension til October for his 2011 income tax return and I included the IRS 4868 form from his accountant in the AOS package as his taxes would not have been ready when we filed. We also included his tax returns from 2009/2010 as he is self employed.

2. I noticed on my vaccination documentation worksheet that the panel physician marked insufficient time interval for my TD shot. I received that back in December of 2011 and had the medical done in April of 2012.

I know that I have to wait until I get the RFE in the mail but still curious if the above items may be a factor.

An extension will not work for the self-employed. You need to get the taxes filed. They will go by the income on line 22 of the most recent 1040, so it needs to get filed.

Thanks Jay-Kay, we actually filed his income tax in October and he paid money to the IRS that was owing....GRRR soo frustrated because I told him this might become an issue with the AOS application.

Darnell, they wanted a copy of my marriage certificate but when I sent the application in, we went to county office and got a certified transcript of our marriage. Because I live in such a small town, our county in NY state will only issue one marriage certificate and after that they will only issue a marriage transcript.

Nothing about the taxes and here I was freaking out for nothing.
