Often it means that the embassy will conduct their on review; mostly background checks. There is no time frame to when their review will be done. Just make sure to call or email the embassy once or twice every week to hear an update!!

Did the officer say you were denied? Did they give you a form of things that needed to be returned? It sounds like you may have been put in AP. I would call DOS they will be able to tell you what the Embassy put in the system for your case. (202-663-1225 option 1 then 0) Best of luck to you.

embassy? I have my interview done here in the US. we got to the USCIS building and the officer interviewed us. Change of status interview. me and my wife. we got a paper at the end of the interview saying FURTHER REVIEW.
To clarify: was this to remove conditions on the green card? Your quoted message here indicates that, and the arrowed part of the "immigration checklist" in your VJ timeline matches that. However, your list of timeline events & dates (below the Immigration Checklist) says that your embassy interview was 7 January 2013. (It also shows "Armenia" as your consulate -- correct?)

Your initial post in this thread talks about an interview (type unspecified) and the officer's not returning your "passport or any other documents." I too perceived this as an embassy interview, until your latest message.

Please scrutinize your timeline and fill it in completely with 100% accurate information. Then, people here will be better able to help you.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

sorry about the confusion. I have changed my timeline several times to avoid this confusion. Yet I have changed it once again. hopefully i have changed it correctly. anyway. I am from an F1 visa I met my wife here in the US while i was a student. We got our scheduled interview just this afternoon. The interviewer said at the end of the interview that he will have a supervisor take a look at our case because he was new to this whole marriage interview thing. He said he used to work as a NATURALIZATION officer. So marriage interview was kinda new to him. He gave us a paper stating. FURTHER REVIEW. He said you might get a letter. Im not sure what letter he meant. GC letter. or letter for 2nd interview?he didnt ask anymore documents. Is this a good sign or bad sign?please help us Guys. the interview went only for 35 mins. most of the time he was just scanning documents that we submitted and ask for the original copies and then returned everything afterwards.

GUys do you have the same experience as mine? what does this further review means? DO i need to get concern or something? the officer didnt take any of our documents. passport EAD card. etc. he didnt even look at our photos.

Nook: I was approved at the spot, so I don't know for sure what this means. But one of the members (at least one, I know one for sure) was the same way and told the same thing that the supervisor will look at the things, and then a month later he got a letter for a second interview....so if your case is similar than his/hers than you might going to get a second interview appointment in about a month over mail. But again, I just say this from one person's experience that I knew...I honestly, cannot prove this is the case in your situation as well. Certainly, can I say I've had similar situation like yours as I did not. Good luck!

THanks for the reply. tsk. I hope I wont get a second interview. the office kept saying he is new to the job so he is going to ask his supervisor for the decision. I hope I wont be in trouble because he's new to it and he doesnt know all the procedure.

I wish you luck...like I said I cannot say your is the same cause...but the previous person was told the same thing and waited for the "supervisor's" decision....anyway, good luck!

Looking at your dates you should be getting something very soon.
