guys,

can anyone please explain to me why I have to file Form I-601A? I just received an email FROM NVC for my IN-LAWS to file this form? Why do I need to file this form? My in laws have been to USA before on visitor visa. One of their other daughter had sponsored for them... Their other daughter just became permanent residence from H-1. And, my wife who because US Citizen in April 2012, filed for her parents so they become PR quickly.... Is there any fee to file I-601A?

I forgot to add to my post above, that my in laws are currently in India, right now.. And, my Mother in law plans to come to USA in March 2013. If they are not in USA, then I do not have to file I-601A, correct?

that is a generic letter informing anyone with a NVC process who would qualify if they were in the US and had entered without inspection. parents would have the opportunity to file the waiver before leaving the country.

they don't have to do or pay anything. it's not for their case
