I called USCIS today and talked with a Tier2 representative and found out that my case (CR-1) was transfered over to a local field office (charlotte, NC). Anybody out there with local field office experience?

Yes, I got transfer to Newark, NJ on Jan 9. You need to call them again and confirm, then you should take an info pass and visit your field office to make sure they have your case. Find attached numbers which shows that your local office does not have that much of load compare to other local offices. For example.. Newark got about 1,600 cases in JAN and only about 1100 got approved whereas Charlotte got 333 and approved 270 cases for i130.

We got our good news last week! It was such a hectic three week period for me so I haven't been to this site.

I'm in the US by myself and my wife is in Japan :( But yes, she will be going through the Tokyo embassy. You're in Japan? I see your profile says Philippines.

No worries! And congrats on getting your NOA2!

I know it's going to be longer since I'm in the US and my wife is in Japan. Each day should be one step closer to us being together. But right now...not knowing what's going on...it feels like we're just being pushed further and further apart. My only wish is to have her with me. Any bit of news I can get I will take. Even if it is just finding out my case was transferred to a field office...at least I would know something.

We filed in January 2013, and less then a week after we filed in got my NOA1.....but we are still trying to be patient and wait for our NOA2. We were asked to submit further evidence in early March and the letter came from our local office in Jacksonville, Fl, but we sent the package to Texas initially. Our lawyer says this is a good sign and should be hearing something soon...fingers crossed, this long distance marriage thing is not for me!

I applied for 1-130 On Jan 18th 2013. USCIS received on 22nd Jan 2013. Case transferred to NBC. Received NOA1 on 01/25/2013. MSC Receipt no does not show up online as yet.

Did you call USCIS to find out if your case been transferred to Newark?

I called them on Friday and spoke with at Tier 2 rep. They told me my case was still at NBC but would probably get transferred to Newark. However, the rep also told me that I would get notified when it's transferred (which I know isn't true) and that the field office will call me in for an interview which is "standard procedure" when the petitioner is in the US and the beneficiary is overseas (which I know isn't true). So I'm taking what they say with a grain of salt.

I was told that they are currently processing Nov/Dec cases so hopefully will come soon. Here is New Jersey dedicated post, please vote and share your experience. I am the petitioner who is here in states, and the beneficiary is in India. I have one more family member who filled in early sep2012 but case never was approved in mid Dec at NBC and never got transferred to Newark. So I do not understand how they are processing the cases. I have been USC since couple of months now, but my status online still says I yet to take the test. My i130 status does not say that my case is at Newark, so it is very hard to predict anything, but cases filled post AUG 15 likely get transfer to local field offices.

Hope you get NOA2 soon.
