I am beyond jealous of you right now. I have been waiting 45 days and nothing.

I'm over 6.5 months, waiting. Thought I'd be approved long time ago. I understand from my senator they hadn't touched my application until a week ago. It's not fair of course that some get processed before others. I spent a lot of time preparing my submission and others too so I doubt it has anything to do with the package. However I do not begrudge the petitioner, it is an unfair system. I would have celebrated too if I had been so lucky. Congrats to the couple, they are very blessed with good news!

Is this any different than a regular i-130? We filed in Vermont (June 4th NOA1) and haven't heard anything. 6.5 months and counting.

well K1 is fiance visa and I-130 petition is for marriage base visa. as far as wait times its very similar. you should be getting approval time soon otherwise call USCIS and do a service request to find out whats going on with your case

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number
Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere,and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .

It's not a negative comment, it's a simple truth: you were lucky; no one begrudges you your approval, but think of the people who have been waiting for months with no end in sight, where is their approval? Elevating you above them due to an administrative mistake is disingenuous to those waiting.

It certainly isn't your fault, but spare a thought for those people.

We all took a lot of care in preparing our package, and can assure you that it had nothing to do with your fast approval. I am happy for your approval but it kind of stings for people who have been waiting patiently for over six months and still have heard nothing and will spend the holidays away from their loved one(s).

My petition was also at the Vermont Service Center. It took over seven months to get the NOA2. Am I angry with you? Of course not. It is not your fault. It is not like you slipped someone twenty bucks. It's just the luck of the draw. So congrats to you and have a very Merry Christmas. Then get ready for the NVC and hope that lightning strikes twice!
