There is at least a small measure of justice in that the mideast oil-producers are going to be hit hard. Maybe we can sell them water, for a substantial price, of course! It is unfortunate that many people that had no benefit from the fossil fuel exploitation will also be severely impacted.

I am happy to be living literally on the shore of the greatest fresh-water reserves anywhere other than the polar ice caps! :D

You never heard of Baikal? More fresh water than all of the great lakes combined (20% of the earth's fresh water is in Baikal).

I want to visit there someday. I don't anticipate ever wanting to live there, but, who knows, that area might someday be a great place. Russia and Canada as well as possibly Greenland are poised to have potentially the greatest benefits from global warming.

I still wish there was a practical solution but doubt that anything now being proposed will ever be adopted in time to make a significant difference. I think the only real hope is with climate engineering but the potential adverse impacts from those technologies may make for an even worse outcome.

It might be a good time to buy property in northern Ontario.

Of course, if global warming doesn't happen then you're stuck with a giant stinking POS.

I never liked water much anyway. Rather, I drink wine and eat cake.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.
