An Interview FINALLY!!!

I wrote to them but I have some reservations about the wording of this bill. To me it reads like the only difference is you have to get a waiver and pay a $2K fine. I explained in the letter that I support the bill if the waiver is being replaced by a fine.

You know this whole thing is bullshit. If you ask around about 90% of the general population thinks that an immigrant is granted full blown citizenship if they marry an American. Nobody really has a problem with this except the government.

What has happened to you is insane. As far as I know America has never suffered an Argentine terrorist attack.

If they really want to avoid terrorism they ought to stop pissing people off. This government is completely incapable of solving any kind of problem. They ALWAYS screw things up completely.

Thank you for writing them Joe,

you are a good man.

:)

Mrs P,

I think you are in uncharted waters here. You have become the teacher here instead of the student. i don't think any of us have a clue how long it takes to reconsider your case. You should be thanked for staying here and sharing your experience. Perhaps some day another person will get help from what you have chosen to post here.

I am ashamed of what I think will come of all this pending legislation. I think when it is said and done we will have a border fence and a felony for illegal presence. I don't know why this country has chosen to play hard ball on immigration right now. If you have ever taken any sociology classes you should have learned that Americans usually attack the poor and immigrants in times of bad economies.

hopefully you will get something before the May appointment. If not I would hate to be the person that has to interview you.

Thanks again Mrs P. Lucero and I talk about your case often. We are so sorry that you have been prevented from having your husband here. Please know that you have friends and support. You are not forgotten!!!

Mrs P,

I thought you might get a laugh out of this one:

We finally got a letter today to show up for a biometrics appointment on 7 Apr 06 at 9 AM. They threw in a few gratuitous threats about not being there on time. It seems if you don't make this appointment on time your petition is considered abandoned and you must file all over again.

There is a slight problem. The appointment is in New Orleans. I have read on the internet and it seems that this office is more or less in the Gulf of Mexico. They haven't even been able to go in and see if any records are still there.

Of course this little complication takes a back seat to your problems and all of the others here that are waiting without the person they love. I just thought you might laugh at the fact that the insanity never stops.

My heart goes out to all of you that are waiting here. Trust me you are in the most difficult part of the journey. From here the craziness becomes laughable!!!

That's pretty stupid of them, but I have one of those as well :D just last week

I got a letter from USCIS which was received on about March 20th 2006.

It was in response to an inquiry I made regarding our Missing I-130. I made the inquiry in person using an infopass appointment in Miami!!!!

The letter states,

on 11/30/2005 you, or the designated representative shown below contacted us about your case.

it then lists our case info.

then it says,

The status of your service request is as follows:

UNABLE TO CHECK CASE WITHOUT ALIEN NUMBER OR RECEIPT NUMBER

if you have any further questions please call the National Customer service center at 1-800-375-5283

I can't believe this, it took them 4 months to tell me this, AND our receipt number is clearly listed on the letter amongst the case info I already gave them.

I thought this was the most incompetent thing I have seen so far, that was until I saw yours.!!!!!

I really don't know if I should laugh or cry... This is so rediculous. How can this people be so retarded? I think my 15 month old son has more sense than they do!

The office in New orleans is closed and with no reopening in sight (not because they had any damage. As far as I know nothing was damaged, nothing was lost, all files and documents, computers and equipment were in perfect conditions, some employees are retrieving everything and transfering the cases to Memphis, at least that is what my senator's assistance told me he was told be the New Orleans USCIS contact in Memphis), and as far as I know Memphis distrcit office, is taking care of everything from New Orleans.

It takes them 4 months to say they can't check the case because they need information that they have in front of their eyes? I now I see that the education problem in the public school systems is worse than I could have imagine because these people can't even read, much less think, analyze and give an accurate, correct and proper response to a simple inquiry.

Sjoe, make sure you are on time to your appt at the New Orleans office be there early

Mrs. P,

I think you topped me on that one. It really scares me that these are the people that are in charge of our " National Security ".

I think a lot of their problems could be solved over the telephone if they would get rid of this bullshit 800 number and hire somebody to answer the phone at each of these offices. So many of the problems I read here could be solved so easily if there was just somebody that you could talk to.

I did some more research after I made the post. I discovered that the New Orleans office is relocating to a strip mall in Metairrie. I talked to a lady that runs the strip mall and she says that they are trying to be open by Monday ( Our appointment is Friday ). I am waiting till Monday and then I am going to call and get the lady to walk down to the office and see if they are equipped to do biometrics. Now this is insane that I can't call the office. I have to get some poor lady that has nothing to do with this to ask the question for me. I really don't want to drive 6 hours to see if they are ready for me.

My boss went through this about a year ago. He got the bio letter with all of the gratuitious threats and the date was a Saturday. When he got there the office was closed. Two weeks later they got the " you have 30 days to leave the country" letter.

What excellent news. It sucks going through all of this to get to the point of filing a waiver, but at least it is something. It would be really cool if he can come on the 130 and not have to file for adjustment.

It seems like you have some more compelling evidence than you did in the waiver before. I feel good about this one.
