Concern: Will DO NOT OPEN package will be opened by China customs

We just ordered our ticket to bring us together, and then found out how much of a mess

the ticket is going to be because it uses Beijing Capital International Airport.

At the Beijing Cap Air there is a transfer from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3 that I found out

will cause my Rochelle to not only have to go through customs/security two times, but she

will have to pay for a shuttle to Terminal 3(in Yuan).

I found this hard to believe, but acceptable.

I then read the requirements of the customs realizing she would have

enter China crossing the national lines, and realized

that any and all written documents, or photos are subject to be

opened, and thereby searched.

I am now worried that our final envelope for immigration and the K1 visa

in the US is going to be disturbed by the Chinese customs not once but twice.

Has this happened to anyone in coming from China? or Anyone who has used this airport in the past?

All China Immigration Inspection personnel will want to see is a valid passport with the applicable valid visas.

It is great that the shuttle is free. Thanks I have been studying that guide for awhile

I was just worried the customs would open the immigration package to search for unallowed items.

Is the same day looked at as 24 hours since her arrival or is it midnight of the current day?

She arrives at 12:45am Beijing time, and the next flight isn't until 7:55am the following day.

Just to clarify, she arrives at 1245 am and departs at 755am the following day.

As thats more than a 24 hour period, she will require a chinese visa.

I would look for a route that does not go thru China if it was me. The extra money is worth removing the uncertainities of going thru China. I could go thru Moscow if I wanted, but I only do that if the other flights are canceled and I have no choice--you need a transit visa to go thru Moscow even if you are just stoppng over (things have changed as of 12 Sept. 2012 and I have not really checked on the new requirements). I understand about a 7 hour layover, as Lufthansa has a 7 hour layover in Frankfurt when traveling from Almaty to Denver, but we get to avoid Chicago . Is there not another route you can choose?

There is no problem going through China she just needs to show her plane ticket and explain she is going onto the US. I had to do the same thing once it required them getting a supervisor because I didn't have a visa to enter China. I was coming back from Manila via Shanghai I could of entered China since they were letting me in with out the Visa. So they had to make sure I was going to continue on with my travel plans.

Its a simple bus transfer from T2 to T3. Be aware T3 is HUGE. 2nd largest terminal in the world.

The information booth gals, speak very little English, try and find a simpler route. I went to China first time and made it OK, immigration officials I met all spoke English there.
