Canker sores, got it ! Thanks !! I like learning new words, thank you ! Ah so meat as well....hmm I like salads haha

Yeah, I like salads, but the husband will only eat carrots raw and insists on everything else being cooked and meat practically every night and for lunch. That being said, we are a family of 3 and go through 1-2 kg of carrots a week.

You can use it to buy more cat medicine...:)

Nope.

Tax refund all got transferred into a different account because it's my filing money for the rest of this process.

I don't have much splurge cash.

I have to pay my bills, and get my husband's long form BC, and pay him back some money as well.

And go grocery shopping. WOOHOO!

I love my Keurig. But 2 things....

1. The k cups are costly

2. The machine always needs descaling

3. The machine will break in a year or 2

I mean 3 things....

At my house in America is a Keurig that we got as a gift maybe 5 years ago? Still works and we almost never used K-cups but just used it to make tea water, which it seems to do at just the right temperature. We've never descaled it but I think that depends on the water type.

I've had an electric kettle in Denmark for 5 months now and have to de-calc the thing every 2 weeks at least.

Boring thing about my life: I just bagged 4,2 kg (9.26 lbs) of chicken to put in the freezer.

That's a lotta chicken. Come to think of it, was it because of Denmark that we have the "chicken tax" ? Or was it holland...

And as you know, the water here is pretty nice.

 There is another 2 kilos (4.4 lb) in the fridge. There is the rare occasion here when we get access to a car, so I seize the opportunity to buy things in enormous bulk that would otherwise be tedious to carry home the mile or so from the market and not even available there anyways.

I have no idea about any sort of chicken tax. It sounds weird.

The water in NYC is nice supposedly, but I've never been a big tap water person anyways. Actually I do love the taste of the water in Denmark, despite how much calcification builds up on everything. The water in CT always left me thirsty after drinking it, which was weird and the water in Colorado needed airing out so you wouldn't pass out from the chlorine fumes.

My silly husband forgot about his father's birthday party this weekend so we couldn't travel. :sleepy: It is fine because I wanted to wait to go to the Netherlands in April or so anyways.

Wow I guess you're not in a city? I'm not familiar with Denmark but it seems like you're missing the convenience of a metro area.

The "Chicken Tax". I remembered learning about it years ago. And I just googled it again...It still exist. It was actually started by Germany and France in the 60s. Chicken was considered a delicacy in Europe after WW II. Until the US started loading their markets with tons of discount chicken. In turn , Germany, france and then Holland imposed heavy tariffs on US chicken. The US retaliated by imposing 25% tariffs on various European products. (The Light Trucks are still taxed today). As a result, Holland says "screw you, we'll raise our own chicken". And I think may be that's why theres so much chicken in Holland today.

Man this thread is truly full-o boring stuff.......

Now, onto water.

I always thought the water in CT and CO were pretty pristine...I run the tap water here thru a Britta, then it's good to go.

Your husband is a bad son. How dare he forget his fathers birthday party in the netherlands...
