I would have to be paid SUCH a large amount of money to drive anywhere right now.

I'm a fantastic driver and snow doesn't bother me.

But I can see people everywhere in ditches and honking horns.

It's not that I don't trust me, it's that i don't trust THEM!

I hear that. I think the worst is when conditions are more ice than snow and people swear like it was their religion that trucks and SUV's will save them from their own stupidity and they won't slide off the road or wreck. Um, no, that's not how physics works. Fun to watch the truck drivers who forgot they need to weight down the bed before going out in poor winter conditions, as long as they are not spinning out in my general direction...

OMG my chocolate arriveeeeedddd YES !!!! I was going to take a picture but than I got lazy and eager to eat it. Also, got ginger cookies dipped in dark chocolate. OH YAH !

I wanna take a programming class, nice !! GL with it !!

some boring update: I tried looking for a way to get into the city...turns out...there is one bus at 6:45, whole day one bus. Woohoo......ugh.

Hehe. I'm just a baby n00b. I am learning VB and SQL. I think next semester I'll take Java. Lots of community colleges here offer programming classes. If you don't even want to be bothered with that, Udacity teaches basic Python programming in their CSCI 101 class. :) I'm taking their stats course right now.

I suffered a massive concussion when I was... maybe around 16 or 17.

Went on a ski retreat and came around the corner and some idiots were walking with their snowboards horizontal in front of them down the hill.

Obv the hill was too tough for them.

I yelled MOVE but obv there was barely a second to do so and I went head on into his snowboard.

It was a rental and I broke it with my face.

He would have ended up paying the 300 bucks because of it being a rental.

I blacked out, and this fantastically gorgeous guy from our retreat was helping me up.

The dude I ran into was cussing me out.

I just walked away.

Ended up having to go to the ER about 3 days later since I still had a headache.

They told me they couldn't do much though.

Now, I have to take at least 3 tylenol to relieve any sort of headache.

I am clumsy too, but I've been skiing since I was 5 and used to race in high school. Then, my first day skiing after I moved to Colorado, my skis got stuck in the powder, my bindings were still set for ice and race conditions, and I had a nasty fall. I got taken off the mountain ( which involved going down, up a chairlift, and down again) and then an hour in an ambulance during a snowstorm through the mountains. They ended up putting a big plate in my leg and some big screws that go through my bone and into the muscle in my calf.

I want to learn how to ski, but I am extremely clumsy. I'd allow people to take bets on how long it would be before I ended up in the ER.

12 years living in Switzerland, never learned to ski..went only one time to ..what do you call it...you dont actually ski but walk really, on the snow with skis...cross country skiing ? Anyways, ended up miss-reading the signs went the hardest route...took me 6 hours to get about 3/4 of the way...hungry, thirsty and angry....there was a small hill to go down...on the right side there was a huge snow wall, which I ended up ramming into and getting stuck with the skis in...after about 4 mins, decided to fake fall and crawl away....it did not end there.....later on, I reached a bridge full of snow of course, up slope a little ....kept sliding backwards....10 mins later I angrily took off my skis and decided I would walk my way out of this hell hole....turns out the snow could hold me only when my weight was distributed onto my skis....i just nicely dove into the snow with my feet....there was a lot of snow, i am 5 feet 1" tall....i was in all the way up to my butt.....spent another 20 mins trying to get out.....

I dont think trying to ski would be a good idea, I bet I'd be hanging off of a tree somewhere within seconds.

I do like the snow :bonk:

When I am realistic with myself, I know snowshoeing is probably the only thing I wouldn't manage to kill myself with. All these injuries here confirm that. Probably the most nuts thing I have ever done outdoors was this summer. We went up to do the Heliotrope Ridge trail on Mt. Baker. Now, I had read trail reviews that warned of bad fords over streams. The first half of the trail I was like 'wut?' because there was some water on the trail but nothing hardcore. Then we came out to the subalpine zone and...yeah. We came to this beast (I'm down there in front of my FIL):

P8256592.jpg

Please note the slope of this and the fact that we were already at 5000ft and this went tumbling down in the fashion shown above into the abyss below. We just stood there for like a half an hour completely pissed off. How were the four of us supposed to cross this? Now it is super hard to see, but if you look just up in the stream from where I am standing, you can just make out a stick across the water. We stood there long enough that we saw other people from the other side using the stick to balance themselves across the stream. We could also finally reasonably gauge the depth (ca 18-24 in). I had seen enough and without a word, took off my boots, tied them together around the back of my neck and crossed there. That water was just above freezing and the very strong current and inability to see bottom scared the living ####### out of me. I honestly felt like Indiana Jones in the Last Crusade where he had to make that leap of faith because one wrong move or misstep, I could lose my balance and plunge 38932 feet to my death. No sh&t, it was serious business. After I made it across, my husband slung the kid on his back and came as did my FIL.

Anyway, it was so worth it. My kid with the Coleman glacier behind her:

^^^ cuuuuuuuuteface! Love it!

Was all excited over wedding gifts for the husband this morning. I found a groupon discount for boudoir photography and was like "husband, would you like this for your wedding gift?" and he responds with "could you even do that?".

You're right, my sexy face ends up looking like this:

Sorry husband, you'll get new rug or something.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.
