Hi All,

I entered the US on a K1 visa with my daughter last April. Got married in July which turned out to be the biggest, stupidest mistake of my life. Both my daughter and I are verbally, financially, and psychologically abused by this douchebag, monster of a man I married. I don't have any means of going back to the Phillipines and would like to seek any advise/info on how to go about departing voluntarily.

I've visited the Phil. Consulate and CFO websites, but there doesn't seem to be any article relevant to my situation. Either that, or I'm just too upset to comprehend anything I'm reading.

If anyone has info on this, I'd really appreciate it!

Hopefully you've removed yourself from that situation, if not do so immediately. You can call the domestic violence hotline at 1−800−799−SAFE (7233) for some help. They might be able to connect you with some women's organizations that can give you shelter and perhaps help you find a way home.

Are you sure that you wish to return home? You can file a VAWA and stay in America.

Edit: It makes me so angry when people do this to their fiances, spouses, and step-children. I'm currently residing as an immigrant in my husband's country and he has been nothing short of amazing. There is just no excuse for it!

**** Moving from Moving to America to Phils regional forum as OP wants to go home ****

Can you call the Phils embassy, speak to a human? Most embassies have a program where they help you get home, but you will need to pay them back once settled.

I think you can ask help to the nearest Philippine Embassy there. I'm so sorry for that.

You're a Filipina right?..Not a Pakistani?..Maybe you can try to locate Good Shepherd's office near you because as what i remember during the Guidance counseling, they are helping victims of such matter and in fact, they helped many Pinays who asked their assistance if they want to return to Philippines. I learned this from our Guidance counseling seminar in Cebu City.

Hi there! So sorry this happened to you. Please try to contact these offices to help you out. I got this from one poster here in VJ, named "beth", she too was abused in the US, she's a Filipina, and I think she mentioned that she now works in this women center, and was able to get her legal stay in the US.

Perhaps, if you really want to come home, it would be good if you tell them your case so they could help you and your daughter get plane tickets. Take care of yourself and your daughter. Be smart and wise! You don't need to stay in America and have a miserable life. Having peace of mind is priceless. You can start your life back home again -- no worries, this doesn't happened to you alone, just be positive and allow God to help you. I hope to hear any positive outcome / updates with your case. Be strong for your daughter's good future!:)
